Yeah, using DISNEY to show how unoriginal Avatar is.
From the company that has ripped off and mutilated and shamed umpteen different classic stories...

Meh, I bet it will just be the two of them writhing around after connecting their hair braids. Fan boys will be able to jack off to it but everyone else in the world will think it's stupid.

Stephen Colbert pointed out that if connecting their hair braids is sex, then they're having sex with their horses, their banshees, and their magic tree.

Anyone else think Sam Worthington looks a shade like Sean Avery? It made it very difficult to like the protagonist....

Yes. Very much.
...And to go really off topic (my apologies)...
Is it just me, or does Andy Garcia + Brent Sutter = Mark Strong?
 + = ?

IMHO, Avatar was not too long.
The theatrical release shouldn't have been any longer but I definitely don't think it was too long as it was.
You also need to compare apples to apples:
Avatar Theatrical = 162 Minutes
ROTK Theatrical = 201 Minutes
Avatar Extended = 202 Minutes
ROTK Extended = 251 Minutes
... and that is only if they use the extra 40 minutes to make an extended edition. They may just put them in deleted scenes.

I saw the Hurt Locker yesterday. Amazing. First movie I've ever bought before watching it.
Worth every penny. It should win.

BOX OFFICE UPDATE
Avatar sits at $1.6 Billion worldwide. $491 million domestic. Tomorrow is a holiday in the US, so Avatar may hit $500 million domestic tomorrow.
Avatar broke the record for best 5th weekend ($41 million) previously held by Titanic ($30 million).
Avatar looks as though it will probably have little difficulty catching Titanic's $1.84 Billion worldwide.
In its 5th weekend Avatar grossed approximately $150 million worldwide. That is incredible box office strength. It actually wouldn't surprise me to see Avatar hit $2 billion worldwide.
