Winery Dogs (Mike Portnoy, Billier Sheehan, Richie Kotzen) - more of a straight forward classic rock sound than I expected from Portnoy.

KXM [dUg Pinnick (King's X), George Lynch (Lynch Mob, Dokken), Ray Luzier (Korn)] - I would classify this as sounding similar to King's X heavier stuff but with Lynch's guitar stylings.

Also enjoying another Pinnick side project that came out last year - Pinnick Gales Pridgen

Local producer who was just featured in an interview by Noisey. Just heard him for the first time tonight and looking forward to see what he does.

Beach Season is perfectly suited for his moniker. The 20 year old is laid-back, relaxed, and charmingly unaware that he is one of the most interesting singer-songwriter-producers to come out of Calgary in recent memory. He calls his music “Booty Wave.” Part chillwave, part R&B, Beach is crafting a groovy, woozy brand of beats that are distinctly his own, complimented by his own buttery vocals and dreamy, delicate falsetto.

While Calgary is quickly becoming a hotbed for musical talent, Beach Season (real name Sam Avant) stands out in a local scene that’s dominated by indie rock, hip-hop and electronic acts. He’s quickly becoming Calgary’s poster child for alternative R&B, and could be poised to enter an arena that’s been previously dominated by artists from the genre’s mecca – Toronto.

Yep. Some good songs on it, but I think the Gales/Pridgen and KXM efforts are better.

He has another side project coming out soon called Grinder Blues (Pinnick with the Bihlman Brothers). Not surprising it's blues oriented.

Also apparently recorded another Pinnick, Gales, and Pridgen.

And I think King's X is going back into the studio end of the year.

He's been busy and will remain busy.
