They usually head for a southern beach during all stars if they aren’t selected.

I've yet to hear an explanation that comes close to making sense as to why Bennett isn't there short of Cooper hating him. I sure as hell hope that isn't the reason.

If the US is down by a goal, Cole Caufield would be a great guy to have on the ice. All he’s done all year is score big goals to get his team back in games. Not to mention his prowess in extra time. I don’t expect a Caufield or Robertson on the ice late up a goal, but I’d sure like them there if they’re trailing.

The point is that if you are on the standby list you likely can’t go on holiday like everyone else because you have to be available. And you likely still don’t get called.

No, read again.

All players except the ones playing get family time and plan vacations. those on the standby list have to commit to not doing that, or at least doing something that enables them to leave on a moments notice. And they still likely don’t get in.

you can say they are well paid all you want, but it still kind of sucks for them.
