By the way, I read somewhere that the run-time on this final episode is going to be something like 42 minutes, so expect nothing to be resolved and buckle up for ye ol' cliffhanger.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Not a terrible episode by any means, just kind of sucks that it's the last episode and just a setup for season 2. Which makes it feel like a mid-season advance the plot episode.
Maybe because the action and assault just didn't feel that exciting or high stakes so it didn't feel like a season ending episode to me.
A little bit of setup with Baylan at the statues of the father and the sister and the brother.. well the sister is missing, does that mean maybe Baylan is looking for something that will ultimately be something of the dark side? And the owl with Ahsoka.
That piques my curiosity a bit.. but still don't know where this is all going with the Star Wars universe in general, I guess we'll have to wait for season 2 and any movies to find out.
But as an Ahsoka series I'm pretty disappointed except for the bit in the middle.

Decent episode if you don't mind that it's a cliffhanger. The fights weren't great, but I did like the roided up troopers. I thought the Undeath troopers were the best ones of the bunch, especially when the helmets were exposed.
What is the father pointing to in the distance with the flashing red glow? Is that the Mother? Wonder how are they going to handle that whole storyline Baylan was going to handle with the Ray Stevenson passing away.
That's the first time I thought troopers were cool. The zombie sounds were nightmare fuel.
Everything else was more or less mediocre, although the pace was improved. Why didn't the show have that kind of pace the whole season?? No one would doze off if there was that much to unpack each night.
Sabine and Ahsoka have no on screen chemistry. Show suffers a lot because of this. They have no interesting exchanges. It's.. robotic. I literally felt more chemistry in that glance between Hera and Ezra. Then again, they're probably both just better and more nuanced actors.
As I suspected they just set the chessboard and not much else. Felt like a lot of screen time for not much that actually happened. I think you could easily condense this whole season into 2 strong episodes.
RIP Ray... we didn't get enough of you. But I imagine they had to cut a lot from his scenes for continuity reasons. Maybe they'll bump some of his scenes to season 2?
I'm just not going to talk about that force push jump... Awful. Just a reminder that she couldn't move a cup just prior to this..

Pretty big dud for me. I'm a casual fan that has not seen the animated stuff. But I am just sitting here wondering what exactly I have been watching the last 8 weeks? Like many, I felt the most captivating character was baylan and he was pretty much mia. I'm also confused about the storm troopers. Much was made when they were revealed about how worn and tattered their armor was. Implying the ones left are the best of the best to survive this long. But then they turn out to be just as inept as OT troopers. Big let down.
(I don't feel either of those are particularly spoiler worthy opinions)

The fight choreography was too slow, but the bones are all there.
I enjoyed what felt like peak jedi shenanigans in this episode and it was cheesy fun. However what is happening for a season 2? The events with Thrawn are definitely split now from Ahsoka, Sabine, Baylon and Shin and it would be terrible to have one show try and tell both story lines.
Also why is there no other star cruisers on that planet? Are the crab people and marauders stranded?

The mother is Abeloth from the Legends EU which is what this show seems to be pointing to.
It was an ok episode, that didn't resolve or push a strong cliff hanger element that makes you eager for next season.
They're never going to match the combat done in the animated shows even though the Maul Ashoka fight was done live action.
Overall this show almost felt like a series final then a season final. With Ashoka basically telling Sabine that Ezra is home, let it go.

Hard to do a lot of creatively interesting things when you have Disney execs perched on your shoulder.
If it was George overseeing things still, he'd tell Dave to go all out not revise his best ideas to shoehorn to make it more family friendly and fit some progressive ideals.
i.e. they've really scaled back the dismemberments with lightsabers, to the point that it's funny. In George star wars those troppers would be getting hacked apart.
Losing an arm is Star Wars tradition. Disney needs to honour this.
