Michael Oliver, who's apparently the best referee in this league lol. Abysmal.

First one should be a straight red, but if you miss this one, you at least have to send him off for the second one. Brutal refereeing, but we say this every weekend these days.

He probably is. When you're a 3/10 and everyone else is worse, by default, you are the best.

Keeping Kovacic on? Maybe he has red card immunity? Insane from Pep.

Will be a big win for Arsenal this, but man this game was terrible.

Is it a big win for Arsenal when City will still win the league and finish ahead of them by 10 points?

I guess they can get excited for the day but really it is only meaningful to Liverpool who might be able to catch them at the end.

Well they certainly aren't the best team in the world without Rodri. I'd say his absence (2 PL losses and the Caribou Cup loss) pretty much confirms he is their MVP, and maybe the MVP of club football period.

As a fan that has beat City plenty of times in the past to go on to finish 6th/7th and win nothing I can tell you it isn't a big deal at all.

A one of win that leads to nothing is just that a one off.

Doesn't mean Arsenal fans shouldn't celebrate but when they go on to finish 3rd with no trophies is this win going to make the season a success? Will it change how Arsenal fans feel?

Without Rodri and KdB.

They still are an amazing team that can win the PL but without those two they become much more of one of the top teams not the clear best team in the world.

I mean they've been without KDB all year and they were rolling. Lose Rodri and have to lean on Kovacic/Phillips and they've lost three in a row.

Huge gaps for City without KDB & Rodri; no doubt.
Still extremely happy to get a long overdue win over City, and without our own MVP (Saka).
City are still a level above when fully healthy, but points are points.

good news. I hate the Glazers with every bone in my body, but becoming yet another oil club was my personal nightmare scenario.

So, Tonali is facing a 3 year ban for gambling on games, which he's currently hoping to have halved in a plea bargain, yet the premier league is letting him play against Palace this weekend in the interim and Eddie Howe of course being the morally ambiguous loser that he is, is of course gonna start him. I don't know which one is worse between this one and Partey/Arsenal continuing to play while he's out on bail for a rape charge, yeah actually its still Arsenal but feels like the Premier league is turning into the Mos Eisley of professional sports leagues lately

I'm pretty sure I know which one is worse. Rape is worse. How is this even a question?

Honestly the whole thing with gambling and sports is hilarious.

We are going to promote gambling every single second, of every single game, when a fan is watching.

But if a player gambles then it's a 3 year ban.

As long as the player isn't betting on his own games then how can they make such a big deal of it, while also cashing the cheques from betting parties as partners.

Yeah I wasn't really talking about which crime was worse obviously. Partey scenario is different because he hasn't been publicly named or charged even though everyone seems to know its him who is accused. And i have no idea how likely a conviction is or what the evidence looks like which presumably club does. Whereas tonelli pretty clearly committed the offence and is about to be banned for a long time. Both clubs have acted poorly imo but I do think arsenal is going to really wear it if partey ends up being convicted.

There's a degree of hypocrisy for sure but i understand you can't bet on football leagues in your own country involving teams you could potentially play in league or cup. It's a slippery slope nevermind most of these guys are friends with a player or two on most teams in the league.

I'd rather just see the gambling ads and sponsorships gone and hope that's coming

definitely looks like a bigger scandal. Juventus midfielder Fagioli has now been banned for 7 months, and both Tonali and Zaniolo face lengthy bans as well ... reports in Italy say Tonali even bet on Milan games, so that will surely be a longer ban. Other players might be involved as well.

I have no problem if they throw the book at them. Sport betting is a cancer anyway IMO and if players are that stupid I have little sympathy. There's an obvious hypocrisy here though, given that teams will happily slap bet companies on their shirts and so on ... that should stop too.

First of all, being surprised that football clubs are hypocritical when it comes to money is almost cute but secondly Fagioli in particular plays for Juventus.

One of the teeny, tiny things that a lot of people overlook is that Juventus is...publicly traded on the Italian Stock Exchange.

Which is only slightly less corrupt than the Italian Football Association. So...having a player violate betting ethics clauses affects all of the shareholders and that becomes something of a problem.
