I guess you can feel how you feel, but Huberdeau's response indicates exactly that the tweet didn't come from him, and since it was tweeted by his agent, he's saying he didn't give a go-ahead.
Get your head out of the sand. Huby obviously ORDERED THE CODE RED in the 17 minutes between skating off the ice and the tweet being sent. YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Ya Huberdeau claiming he had no idea or choice in the matter is such a joke. Agents work for the player, not the other way around.

If what Huberdeau's agent did was so against what Huberdeau believes, wouldn't he be mad and distance himself from him?

Huberdeau can't fire the coach, but he sure as hell can fire his agent.

His agent is known for these dumb tweets go look at his account Walsh is a clown. Why would he fire a guy who secured the bag for him? Because he said the Flames aren't haven't fun something a lot of people can see when watching the game.

What's done is done firing his agent does nothing for the team.

You said he can fire his agent? What do you mean by that?

I mean IF my agent caused drama without my consent, I'd fire him. I don't believe Huberdeau "had no idea".

Good lord
The interpretation of this tweet has been totally missed for close to 36 hours now

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.”

(The players continue to put in half assed efforts and still expect to win)

“Also, negativity sucks the joy right out of players.”

(When your net goals per game compared to the opposing team is negative, it isn’t a joyful experience)

I think you are correct in that his agent knows his feelings because I have heard as much and it's not just Huberdeau but I don't think he wanted or knew his agent was going to go out and tweet that. Look at Walsh history and account he's an idiot.

I think it's a personal conversation that players and agents have especially one that is having a difficult season that was not supposed to be put on social media.

What’s the point of firing him now?
No contract negotiations needed for 9 more years if ever. Anything that needs a decision till then either can be handled without an agent or by the NHLPA.
No need for the distraction right now.
If I were him, I’d just quietly let him go in the offseason.

Just my opinion, but IF Huberdeau is so against the tweet (as he claims) what's the point of keeping him now? He doesn't need another contract negotiations for 9 more years if ever. Anything that needs a decision till then either can be handled without an agent or by the NHLPA. To me, firing him now would show that it was solely his agent's opinion and that he didn't support it. Would be less drama and clean up the mess that the "agent" created.

FWIW people in hockey that I have heard interviewed on the subject say there is no way Huberdeau didn't know.

Because unlike what people around here seem to think, people don’t get instantly fired in this business. He has a contract with Walsh and who knows what is or is not within the agent’s discretion. It’s not that easy to terminate a contract.

An agent doesn’t get a lump some of money when contract is signed and then says call me in 8 years . He gets paid out yearly ( probably every pay cheque hubby gets). He is on hubbys pay roll for the next 8 years annd it’s probably all guaranteed. Agents regularly check in with players to make sure they are happy and for other financial opportunities. If hubby wants to get traded , his agent works the back doors to see what’s out there.

I’d imagine there would be quite the battle over the subsequent payments if Walsh was fired now and you tried to hold back his commission for a contract he negotiated 6 months ago.
I’d bet he’s getting those either way.

It certainly would be on brand with this team. The last two losses feels like a rock bottom moment that results in a winning streak bounce back.

Red Wings had a ####ty record for a while, and now are playing hot hockey.

It does sound like frustration may be boiling over in the locker room with Francis tweeting Vladar broke his stick in frustration and walked out of practice yesterday for a period of time.

Forgot to mention I Came back in 5 sec later bcs I forgot to bring 2nd one. My bad. Goalies break their sticks because we care…by the way guys love it and dont worry I’ll put money on a board for it

who knows, probably some truth to it all, and telling I suppose that the players are responding directly to Francis. I do know that he (Francis) seemed pretty pleased about the whole thing on the radio yesterday
