And when someone like him says 0%, that’s pretty definitive.
Wow what an off season. This is nuts.

If Tkachuk doesn't want to stay in Calgary, hopefully what is happening right now is the Flames have the framework for a trade and are facilitating an extension between the acquiring team and Tkachuk in order to maximize his value.

Oh I hope so, I think I’d just be numb of this team if we get a protected first and a second liner prospect.

The way I look at this is, Tkachuk has one of two viewpoints right now.
1. He's stated empathetically he has no interest in a long term deal and the Flames just extended their timeline to find the right trade.
2. He's taking advantage (even moreso) of his situation and asking for a high $ amount, especially with John leaving and knows he has The Flames where he wants them.
He may leave in either scenario, but I'm hopeful that it's scenario 2 and they can work something out.

There are two teams I think he would 100% sign for eight years with...at least they can fight it out
Flames can win this trade IMO
Tkachuk just had his career season, great player but he isn't a top 10 player moving forward

To be honest, Parayko or Tarasenko + Neighbours is about what I’d expect from a deal at this point. With Tkachuk being a 1-season rental for most teams, Treliving won’t have much leverage. And if the Blues think there’s a good chance they can sign Tkachuk next summer, they’re not going to offer a king’s ransom to get him a year early.

I will say it again but the chaos and total WTFness of the Gaudreau situation while dicking the Flames might actually help the Flames get a better return on Tkachuk as long as he is willing to sign with two teams. I don't think the Flames are looking at Tarensenko/Parayko + a prospect return and if that is all they are going to get for him this summer then might as well keep him and see what the deadline looks like.

I believe that is what’s happening. All reports is the Flames had a fairly large offer on the table so if he didn’t sign you move him

Guess it's time for a new avatar. I don't even know who's gonna be on the team next year. Is Zebulon safe?

Drafting Russians used to be considered risky. Now drafting Americans is a major problem for Calgary and presumably most Canadian cities. Awful times.

This is why The Coyotes skipped over Shane Wright. Goes both ways.

I don't believe this for a second. Any team interested in Tkachuk is going to have spoken to his agent and made sure they can get an extension done. We will get a better return than that for Tkachuk, there will be multiple teams interested.

Just to be clear a small section of right wing media in the UK has picked up on the right wing ****wittery of the US and thinks the truckers convoy being turfed out of Ottawa is somehow equivalent to Krystal Nacht and Germany in 1933
I'm no fan of the Liberals but Canada is still seen as a beacon of sanity in a bat#### crazy world in the UK

Of course. Because I was so wrong in telling you there's a material chance that Johnny doesn't sign here when you kept up with the insane notion that there was a 1% chance of him not re-signing.
It's called being a realist. We will not get a franchise changing haul in any trade for Tkachuk. It'll be more along the lines of a middle to low first, another draft pick and a roster payer that won't be a star.
And what that is happening with the team this summer should make any Flames fan be overly, unrealistically positive?

Want to bet on that return? The team still has plenty of good pieces, if you see it as all doom and gloom when any subject to do with the team comes up than why bother? Seriously, hockey is supposed to be fun. Do yourself a favour and pick someone else to cheer for.

The basis of a Tkachuk trade remains unchanged to me. A top prospect, a 1st rounder, and a roster player with salary the Flames have to eat but should be able to flip for other assets at the trade deadline.
