Everything from saying Kyiv killed the Minsk agreement, Kyiv is torturing residence of the east in Ukraine, and the Maidan revolution was a coup d'état that instilled a government that resorts to violence. Now they are showing a 'live feed' of 20 people dancing in the streets in celebration.
Do they honestly believe all this, or are they the perfect actors just because it's their jobs? Such a weird channel.

You should read Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible by Peter Pomerantsev. He details how these networks function is good detail in the first few chapters. I may still have a text copy if interested.

I won't even pretend to fully understand the complexity of the Russia-Ukraine situation, but I found it interesting to read Putin's entire speech. Like most things in Russia seem to be, it's steeped in historical context...or at least one man's perspective of it.
It's a long one, and bring a bag of salt, but if you have 10 minutes...always neat to read a primary source.

I read the first few paragraphs and will read the rest later. It's unbelievable the way he talks. He's basically saying Ukraine is Russian.
If a German Chancellor started talking about 'historic' German lands that are now part of Poland I can't imagine the blowback from international media.

Yeah they definitely have long memories over there. In their eyes that's still a part of their country. So crazy to me
It's like if the UK invaded the rest of Ireland

I watched this entire meeting live (fluent in Russian) and it is incredible how deluded his staff is. It's just constant parroting of everything he said somewhere sometime before.
But this exchange below perfectly illuminates how terrified they are of him and even confused at his goals. Don't know how to embed youtube..

There are a lot more people on this board fluent in Russian than I'd have thought.
Potential Russian invasion of CP? We know they have long memories in the Motherland and they're probably still stinging over the Canadian Victory at the Great Battle of Wannamaker.
They might have been heavily invested in the Cultural Heritage of that funny Coffee Cup Birdfeeder or whatever.

Had an idea!

Canada announces sanctions against Russia. Eastern Canada buys something like $500 million in oil per year from Russia. Gee, I wonder how that is going to go.
I wonder, is there somewhere else they could get that oil from?

I still have my avatar because one of the Russians in the Wannamaker War told me my username was a kind of bus.

Ah! So you were duly anointed for 'Valor in the face of danger' at the Skirmish for 'Hah Hill.'

Those might be his official ways to "resolve" this crises. And yet each point is complete utter bull####, based on acts fabricated by Putin himself.
How do you even begin to negotiate with nonsense like that? Christ.

Putin's madman speech, reckless actions and general demeanor somewhat obscures that the demands are not that unreasonable.
Annexation should never be allowed, but Crimea is not something that Russia just took from Ukraine. Crimea had been Russian for centuries and Ukraine should have given it back when USSR dissolved. Crimea is not something to sweat, let alone bleed, over, but it's not like Putin just randomly grabbed some region of his choice. The circumstances of Crimea ending up in Ukraine at the first place are disputable at best.
Demands about Ukraine not joining NATO are directed at NATO, not Ukrainian. The Cold War ended on terms that Warsaw block dissolves and NATO does not expand East. This has been supported by some respected western sources. Putin, for all his ramblings, didn't just made it up because he so please. Also Ukraine is welcome to join EU and they seem to have a collective defensive agreement on their own right. Or US can fund a large defensive army in Ukraine.
Those demands is not something Putin just made out of the blue. Which means, he is not going to demand something else tomorrow because he so please.
