Also check this out happening at 13:00. Pretty cool event, Chisasibi Curling Classic. Métis and Indigenous curlers including Einarson and the Koe’s have gathered to play in the Cree Nation of Chisasibi.

Announced today. As many suspected, Chelsey Carey is taking over the Jennifer Jones team.

Will be interesting how Bottcher handles being second, but I guess if Birchard and the rest of Einarson's team can do it, so can he.
As it stands I think EJ is the superior second but I guess we'll see.

EJ is probably among the best sweepers in the world. They will definitely miss that aspect of his game.
Bottcher is a heck of a curler. As a second, he’ll likely be throwing a lot more up weight hits/doubles so that will be an adjustment for him. He’s not my favourite personality though and it will be interesting to see how their egos fit together.

It's crazy what the Olympics has done to curling. Residency rules being challenged, super teams being built. Serious business now.

I was banging this drum last year during the Scotties/Brier, but I'd be fine with doing away with provincial requirements for teams. We've already got skips jumping around provinces (Jacobs, Dunstone and McEwen immediately come to mind) and we have wild card teams to make sure the best teams are all there. We might as well just have best-on-best like other countries do.

Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant won the mixed doubles curling trials and will represent Canada in Milan 2026 (they still have to qualify).
They went through the week undefeated. They've been good for awhile, they probably should have been selected in 2022, they were already in Beijing with their regular teams.

Yakon just won at the Scotties! Upset over Nova Scotia who were contenders!

NWT beat Einarson this morning.
Galusha is playing with her daughter, 15 years old at second.

If for some reason Homan doesn’t win this, we are going to get slaughtered at worlds. The field is playing like Monday night ladies league. Lawes and Einarson just struggling. Curling Canada should just name Team Homan as the representative at worlds.

And the Olympics.
Although Einerson came back from 7-2 down, I turned that off.

This was the expectation coming into the Scotties. It was Homan and then everyone else. There's also a changing of the guard in women's curling. Not that Einarson or Homan are old, but there are a lot of newer, inexperienced teams in there.
I wonder how much this format plays into it. There are so many more teams. I wish they'd go back to a provincial winner from each province plus the defending champion.

That's still 15, they only added 3 more teams

I think both the Skrlik Alberta team and the Brown team out of BC are in the upper tier of ladies curling already. There is not a shot that Skrlik wont try and often makes. She also has one Scotties to lean on for experience and if things remain linear, looks to be a big name in curling for the next decade.
Einarson seems to have lost that "it" factor ever since the bizarre suspension of her lead a few hours before last years championship tourney. Whatever led to all that nonsense, it still looks to me like its lingering on that team.
Homan is Homan....and that means she is really really good still. Maybe the most solid team top to bottom the ladies game has seen. No one can touch the front end IMO and Fleury is a rock star as her 3rd. Tough to beat but there are teams that can do it.
I think Canadian womens curling is in pretty good shape myself.
