I'm hoping next year the CPL starts the season in April, and finishes in the middle of October. Would rather roll the dice on weather in April than that in late October / November; the potential for -20 is significantly lower in Spring than it is in Fall.

That Nov. 2 final in 2019 was already pushing the cold limits. Not sure why they want to do that again.
I've never totally bought in as to why Canadian professional outdoor teams continue planning events into November. Sure TV rights and venue availability, but just crunch the schedule/move the game somewhere warm.

I distinctly remember freezing my ass off against Forge in early October when it was -12.
IIRC the pre-pandemic 2020 schedule started mid April and ended in mid Oct. And it was balanced, 2 home and 2 away versus the other 7 teams. Hope we get back to that in 2022.

Pretty disappointing to not get a Forge home game this year. Really hoping the schedule gets more weekend focus with the occasional weeknight game next year. It is hard to make the weeknight games especially with the stadium in the boonies.
Pretty horrible schedule. Most games midweek, not getting a home Forge game. Don't understand this at all. Haven't looked to see if other teams are more weekend based if if they aren't then why not? In a new league you should make it easy for people to get to games without a time crunch and that means playing on the weekend. And what's with the lack of balance? Chanting five-head and watching a ball boy just mess with Henry was one of the highlights last time we were actually allowed in the stands. So frustrated with this, I'll still be happy to get back into the stands but just wish it could of been better planned.
Pre-game press conference before tomorrow's game against York.
- Tommy seems to be treating this similar to preseason. Trying to rotate the squad and find the best combinations.
- Goal is to leave the bubble in a playoff spot, looking at the long term picture. Still 20 games left to go.
- "No one remembers we finished first, it's about the last 2 games".
- Field and Camargo are out. Camargo would be playing if it were a playoff game but they are being cautious with him.
- Minatel is close to returning.
- Mason may be in the lineup tomorrow, that will be a game day decision.

Looking at the schedule again, there is not one weekend away game vs Edmonton. So no real travel possibilities. They really blew the scheduling this year.
Luca and Escalante on the pitch at the same time? I am intrigued...
York have what I think is a pretty weak lineup. No Zator. No Petrasso. Ingham in goal. They do have Abzi who IMO has been the best player in the league this year and Wright has looked promising as well.
Don't get my hopes up!

Same stuff from Cavalry. Insisting on playing as wide as possible with no options in the middle. Scared to play through the middle, and when they finally get a look, they get cute and fail to put it on target.

I wonder why Tommy doesn't try Luca in the middle behind Novak, and put Selemani or Musse on the left wing. Nice play there that Novak should have put on net from Luca being in the middle.
Well, that felt like a better performance than the last 3 overall, but to come away with a 0-0 draw is disappointing. So completely inept in front of the net lately.
Is that 4 in a row without a goal now? Frustrating to dominate in all areas except the scoreboard. Tommy needs to pull the finger out and find an attacker when the window opens or else it might be a long year. Also can no one in this league cross? Not just the Cavs, it seems like it either hits the first man or its no where near.
Lots of positives tonight all in all, just need a goal. Hopefully Mason is the man to do it.
Mason will be in the squad tomorrow so that's good.
Camargo and Field are heading back to Calgary to continue rehabbing their injuries. Camargo's is more precautionary as he has discomfort in his ankle. Field has a thigh strain which Tommy quoted as a 3-4 week injury. Minatel had a small quad strain before flying out to Winnipeg but is still with the rest of the team as mentally it helps him get over the broken leg from last year.
