Can you not just let the kid be drafted before proclaiming absolutes?? There is no guarantee right now what he becomes, let’s wait a little bit before being so strongly opinionated on a player so soon. Literally a Flame for 10 mins and some are completely writing him off.

Everyone has certain types of players they don't like. For me, it is this brand of player. I'd rather take a chance on a goalie than a defenseman that can't play defense.

Only really extensive amounts of highlights for both. Poirier I saw full games in the Super Series and was not impressed, though I admit I was mostly focusing on Pelletier and Zavgorodniy

This scouting staff has been finding lots of gems the last few drafts (Dube, Mangi, Fox, Andersson, etc) They have my trust which makes picks like Poirier a little more exciting!

For sure, I guess I’m looking at is as a free pick - why not take the chance on a potential franchise altering lottery ticket?
If it doesn’t pan out, it didn’t cost anything. Worth the gamble I think.

I criticized the pick, said I think he will bust, then said I will be happy to be proven wrong. I will even go ahead and buy his jersey if he makes it to the big club. No lack of support for flames prospects, but this is a thread to discuss draft picks as they are made, and we should be allowed to voice our opinions.
