RIP Chris.
May you no longer suffer from a horrible disease that has taken a great man too soon.

Warmest regards to the Snowy family, your strength is unmatched and you all fought this together so valiantly.

This is so heartbreaking. If there's one silver lining to come out of all of this, it's that he fought far harder and far longer than even his doctors could predict, and his family got to say their goodbyes before he was taken off life support. I hope the lives he's revived and research he's advanced in his passing can live up to his legacy in life.

This is a powerful and beautiful sentiment that really hit home with me; Kelsie really has a gift for words. I'd wish her family strength going forward, but I feel she's got more than enough.
Rest in peace, Snowman.

Today is a really good day to sign up as an organ donor. For those in Alberta, you can do it here: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Pages/OTDRHome.aspx

Kind of says it all.

Quote:
“I remember him and I sitting in the office and I asked if he was going tell anyone,” said Flames GM Craig Conroy, reflecting on the incredible life of his cherished teammate. “I asked him, ‘Are we going to tell the office?

“He said, 'I'm debating it ... but I want to tell it in my own way.'

“He marched in one day and said, 'I'm going to tell everyone, Craig. My mission is to do something about the disease and I'm going to try my best to make that happen.'

“The strength it takes to do something like that is something you can't even put into words. He really believed that they were going to find a way to cure this thing, and that was his goal from that point forward.

"We're not there yet. But we’re closer now than we ever have been.”

The Flames Assistant GM quite literally changed the world, creating a legacy that will live on far beyond the walls of the Scotiabank Saddledome. He defied the odds and fought valiantly not just for himself, but for his kids, Cohen and Willa, his remarkable wife, Kelsie, and the countless others that were affected similarly, but no longer had a voice.

You have provided us with something that is essential, a lesson in resiliency, strength, determination, and love. This will not be forgotten, nor will you, sir. Rest well, Chris.

He was a good role model in that he didn’t let the disease define him. He moved forward in spite of it.

You have to respect that.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
BY ROBERT FROST
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
May we all do our best to keep the promise you gave us Chris to end this dehumanizing disease. Too many people exist, but you really & truly lived each day to the maximum. For that we are blessed, if not redeemed.

Tough news to swallow these last few days and very saddened by his death. I think it was either Huby or Ras that put it best when they talked about putting a “bad day” into perspective. Chris embraced this illness and leaves behind a legacy best defined by courage and resilience. My heart breaks for his family and those that had the pleasure to work with him. His legacy will live forever and hopefully one day a cure will be found for this awful disease.

I'll forever have unyielding respect for Chris Snow. Faced with a horrible disease he took it public and brought a ton of attention to helping advance treatment. This was a more sudden end than was necessarily expected to what was an unbelievably courageous battle, but I would say he truly went out on his own terms, he was active and reasonably healthy right til the end and got to spend precious time with his family while working a job he loved the whole way. Hearing Steinberg say the other day how Snowy seemed to be having a great time in Penticton and that he was in good spirits and playful shows just how quickly things took a tragic turn, but it also highlights that Chris was able to find enjoyment in things and do what he wanted literally right until the end and that's not something a lot of people with ALS are able to say, sadly. He made a huge difference, impacted thousands upon thousands of lives and leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will no doubt live on until a cure is finally discovered for this horrible disease. Rest easy Snowy.

Terribly sad day.

Courage, grace, fight, family, team, dignity.

Just a few words that come to mind right now.

I believe the impact this man had on everyone he touched is immeasurable.
