There is a difference between a coach for one of the best teams in the league vs. one of the most mentally fragile teams in the league.

You're constantly ignoring goal differential. Even if you think "advanced" stats are somehow better than goal differential (which I don't agree with at all), goal differential is still a very, very relevant stat.

You can't just pick the stats you like and ignore the ones that don't agree with you.

I'm also honestly baffled how someone can watch this team and say they constantly outplay the opposition or have more/better scoring chances.

Just because teams that outplay the opposition have good fancy stats does not mean that teams with good fancy stats outplay the opposition. That's not how stats work.

Would you not say they outplayed, for example, Buffalo and Vegas.

Didn't see either game, as I haven't had the time to watch that many Flames games lately. Which has a lot to do with motivation, they're kind of a boring team to watch, and I just get frustrated watching them. I'd honestly rather watch the Rangers with my girlfriend (a Rangers fan), or say, Predators home games (always a fun atmosphere). When I do tune in, I don't see them outplaying anyone.

I would however say that if you think that with a sample size of 50+ games and with relatively few injuries, the team can somehow be significantly better than it's record despite getting consistently good goaltending... Well, optimism is nice.

I can't remember a game this season where I thought we significantly outplayed the opponent but lost. I'm sure I've seen some of those, as they happen every season. Sure sometimes we're a bit lucky or unlucky, or goaltending is the difference, but overall I feel our record is about right.

It was actually an incredible game to be at, it had a bit of everything . Smith had a rare off night but this was far from being a boring game. Added bonus i got some great video of the Chucky scrap!

Haha, I get your point and you may be right but "Tkachuk has 17 goals and 36 points to Ferland's 31 points" is the most disingenuous sentence ever. You left out Ferland's goal output while putting Tkachuk's in and then using Tkahuck's higher point output to suggest he's a superior goal scorer.

Diiiiiiirty, lol.

Outplayed but lost = every game in th recent losing streak, except maybe Tampa Bay.
