Why should the team be performing much better?
The Flames were a bottom 5 team last year and upgrading goaltending while downgrading defense and offense.
The team is full of plugs which is why it's a lottery every shift to see who gets to play with the teams two best offensive players.
Expectations were sky high when they shouldn't have been. This team will struggle to score because there aren't enough players on the team who are good at scoring.
Firing Gulutzan at this point would be folly, this is a layover year until the horrible contracts start to disappear, it was always going to be this way.
