They needed that hit so, so badly.
Now hang on to win this game and watch the momentum swing for the Jays carry forward for a while. That's just exactly what they needed.

Wow. This stat:
Josh Donaldson has now hit 26 go-ahead Home Runs since joining the BlueJays in 2015
So 26 of his 46 HR, or 57% have been to take the lead in a game. That's incredible.

Don't forget Donaldson hits 40% of hr or something in the first ,which usually gives the team a lead !!

Great pitching performance today, if not for the "hit" at Goins in the 4th Stroman could have had the complete game shutout.

Attendance in general, always been a sucker for it, haha.

Well, 5-5 after 10 games. Given they've played all their games in the AL East to this point, that's not really that bad. Haven't charged out to a lead, but haven't fallen way behind either. Their bats seem to be coming alive now too, which could put them on a bit of a run I'm hoping.
The best teams at the end of the year usually end up around .600 (that's 97 wins), so going 6-4 every 10 games should be the end goal. They essentially handed away at least 2 wins over these first 10 games, so first trends look pretty good.

Yeah, the dude needs to lighten up. Hopefully that helps.
Gotta love Stro....you just knew he was gonna come out in the eighth and shut it down.

I see Tulo really turning a corner. His strikeouts are starting to come down which obviously means he's getting more contact.
Here is a decent article on Mark Shapiro by Stephen Brunt who, in my opinion, is the best writer for Sportsnet.
Quote:
Getting there, though, he learned what it felt like to be hated. “I got yelled at walking to lunch,” he remembers. “I got death threats. And the day I made the Colon trade, I drove out of the ballpark and there was one guy waiting for me in the parking lot, holding a sign. It said, ‘Shapiro Bobblehead Night June 26, 2002—No Spring Needed.’”

Pitchers generally have hitters beat in the first month of the season. Lots of timing issues and such. If Tulo really did make adjustments to his swing in the offseason, it may take some time to catch up.

The 2016 Toronto Blue Jays Thread
Really sick of hearing how good RJ's knuckler is....it's creating more problems than solving.
The meltdown started early today.
Edit, I meant RA. Whatever

RA Dickey is a straight up piece of ####. Getting rid of him and Thole would be the best move the Jays could make at this point.

Ya what are the advantages of a knuckle baller?
The ball having an unknown trajectory?
More wild pitches on potential strikeouts to allow the hitter to advance to first to keep an inning alive?
Not knowing when to pull the pitcher?
Having a specialized catcher who can't hit and still can't catch the ball?
Not knowing if it will be batting practice if Dickeys fingernails aren't filed properly?
Just endless advantages.
