They've been giving props to Bennett all night. Settle down

Do we see Bennett take Monahans place on the top line? Something is obviously wrong with #23

Flames are lucky to escape that period unscathed. They were clearly outplayed, and the Nucks dominated the physical play as well. I definitely chalk that period up to nerves more than anything...not to mention the fact that the Flames aren't known for great first periods. I have no doubt we'll see a better effort from them in the 2nd. First line has been invisible though. The boys need to wake up.

We all know what we're getting with Hughson no point in going on about it for the entire series. I didn't even notice that much to be honest, more focused on the game.

Hughson is brutal

Dorsett is a cheap punk

Canucks D are ultra aggressive on the stretch pass, Hartley is going to burn them with a plan B play

Knowing Dorsett as I do, he was chirping the whole time. Oldest trick in the book. Kill this one off and call it a lesson learned for Ferly.

Actually, I'd rather not have to.

It's an easy solution, get a pro, not a fanboy.
But you have Hughson. He can't hear you and he's not going to change, no matter how often the same complaints and attacks are recycled.

It's just exhausting to have the perpetual pettiness in the thread. It's not an energy I like to engage in (nor do I believe is necessary) when discussing the game.

For those of us lucky enough to have watched Sam in Kingston we are not surprised with his good first period . He has heart like his old boss Doug Gilmour . The Flames scouts deserve a lot of credit for the rookie picks the last few years --

Agreed. We all know Hughson is a Canucks homer, which will make it all the better when we beat them.

Let's just focus on the game instead of ragging on him all game, every game.

It's getting to the point of muting the game. Hughson should remain a fanboy regional pbp guy.

You can tell which team has the least experience, but it's still scoreless after 20 minutes. That's a win for the Flames on the road in Game 1.

Ferland is the type of guy to make Dorsett pay a little later. I hope he smokes him with a nice clean hit.

It was about what I expected. The Flames play a lot in their own zone but don't give up a lot of exceptional chances. There were more in that period than they usually give up though. They made some nice plays on the rush and had just as many good scoring opportunities despite limited zone time.

This is likely what it's going to look like for most of the series people. Better get used to it.
