If Joey Bats got tossed for that stare I'd be chucking everything in the dugout on the field and stealing all the bases. No idea what Gibbons said tho...that was a mighty quick toss.

Bats are alive tonight. Need a strong start from Estrada to set this series up well.

Jays have selected RHP Jon Harris in the first round 29th overall. He was expected to be a top 10 pick, but fell because he didn't put everything together in the pitching department. He's 6-4 and is expected to be moving quickly through the organization through to the majors.

His Sinker, Slider and Curve are all + pitches. His fastball can reach 95.

Oddly enough the Jays drafted him back in 2012 in the 33rd round.

The Jays took two other right handed pitchers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds before taking a hitter in the 4th. The rest of the guys from 5-10 were cheap guys to save money. The batter they took currently plays 3B, but won't stick there, he'll likely switch to 1B. He is one of the best pure power hitters in the draft.

Now we just need the Yankees to start losing again. They are on their way to 7 straight wins as well.

At the Jays are making me want to watch ball again. Nice streak, hope they can keep it going!

Weird stat I noticed while messing around on fangraphs this evening...

The Jays don't have a save in over a month. If I counted correctly, it's been 34 games since our last one. That's gotta be getting close to some kind of record.

Jay had similar streaks the past two seasons to rocket into respectability

think it was 11,9 and now 7

I want to think they have turned it around, but the fashion in which they are winning is totally unsustainable

Yeah its a bit of an oddity. But when 22 of your 30 wins are by 4 or more runs the opportunities aren't there. How many blown saves do they have in that time frame?

That's actually the more odd thing - unless I'm wrong - it isn't just that they haven't had a save in that time span - they haven't even had a save opportunity. Very wacky.

Sanchez getting skipped today; Copeland up to start and Kawasaki back to Buffalo. Could be a hairy one today with a less experienced starter jumping in. Or it could be another sweep.

Still can't get over how good Donaldson is. Made a couple beauty defensive plays already today. Just an all around great player.

And Smoak hammers one out, a 2 run shot. Jays up 4-0.
