They were my pick last year, and I think they could have gone deep, but had the misfortune of being on the wrong end of a heavy weight tilt with Chicago in round 1. I thought they played really well in that series, but there was just nothing to pick between those two teams.

The best way to show the talent discrepancy between these teams is the fact that the basically cut Kris Russell and he's the 3rd best d-man on the Flames.

There is no doubt the Blues are really an excellent hockey club, they close down on opportunities and the Flames have barely had a single good opportunity all game.

That was their own fault though. They had first place sealed up and choked it away at the end of the year and ended up with Chicago instead of Minnesota.
