Just got the update. Phone definitely feels more responsive, and the overall experience seems to be smoother.

This is BS! I've been checking and forcing my phone to look for the update for the past 3 days. Still nothing.

Manually update if you need to. It's a randomization over a week though isn't it so you'll be waiting up to four more.

Got my update yesterday. I haven't actually done it yet, still reading up on the fixes and bugs of the latest update.

Default The October Pre-orders Warm Up: Round 2

These will probably go fast, but posting here in case.

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/t...ound-2.141696/

Quote:
You may have heard our recent Pre-Orders Warm Up on Friday was a huge success. It was dubbed “warm up” because something as important as this major change in our ordering system should be treated like a marathon. And everyone knows that before you run a marathon, rigorous training is in order. The Warm Up was a way to measure the response from you guys in order to better prepare ourselves for the beginning of the new system. But once was not enough, and practice makes perfect. We want to be sure that when our highly anticipated pre-orders window is open we are ready for anything. So if you missed out on the previous invite giveaway, don’t despair. This time we’re ramping up volume and coming back at you with 30,000 invites for the OnePlus One.

The same format applies for this event: we do not require any social media sharing or photography entries. All you need to do is fill in your email address on this Google Form. Once again, only one entry per person and real emails only, please! Otherwise you will not be eligible to receive an invite. Invites will start rolling out an hour after the Warm Up event has ended, and these invites will be valid for only 24 hours.

This giveaway is first come, first serve. After the 30,000th email has been submitted, the event will be closed. No time to stop and smell the roses!

Rules:
And that is all! I think you know the drill now. Give it a shot and see if you make it.

Recently found an app that clones one of the Moto X's best features: Active display ACDisplay. Basically it turns your screen on when you take your phone out of your pocket and displays the clock and your notifications on your lock screen without you having to push any buttons and will intelligently display varying degrees of information in an expandable format
You can control when the notifications pop up and ignore certain apps as well

It's a nice little feature to add to the phone.

Might want to post about that ACDisplay in the Android thread as well. I just installed this. It seems pretty decent. I would imagine once Android L comes along, this app might not be as useful as Android L will have lockscreen notifications built in.

So far so good though with this app on my Nexus 5.

Do you still need root Ave xposed to get full use or have the tweaked things? Use to use it awhile back. Now I use heads up.

How's the battery life when using ACDisplay? Also is there any other neat Apps that are good to have? The only feature I like that I always get on any android phone is the HTC clock w/ weather widget.

It does use a bit more battery life than normal. This looks like not a fault of the service itself but rather the LCD getting turned on more to show you the notifications. Unlike the Moto X, the Oneplus doesn't use an AMOLED display so can't turn on the individual pixels without turning on the whole screen. I found it used about 5% more than my average day.

Pushbullet is another great app I always get on my phones. It's another notification service that allows for similar notifications on a desktop PC for office workers. You can also drag and drop files between your PC and your phone as well as quickly send files to other pushbullet users. Always loved timely and beautiful widgets pro. Greenify for keeping battery usage in check. This stuff's been posted on the other thread before I think.

So I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, installed TWRP and backed everything up. What does everyone recommend for good rooted apps, and tweaks, and has anyone tried any custom roms for the One+ One that they really like.

Hm... I would say the most useful ones are root explorer, adaway (Great ad block software from f-droid third party app store), greenify (To kill those pesky battery hogs), Xposed, rom toolbox, better battery stats, tasker, titanium backup, nandroid and good mood gesture control, call master (Had to install this blocking all those "congratulations you've won a free cruise" calls)

Oneplus is putting out a new set of headphones with JBL drivers that look pretty interesting. This is along with their silver bullet headphones.
JBL E1+ sell for $40

http://oneplus.net/jbl-e1-earphones

Silver bullets sell for $20

http://oneplus.net/oneplus-silver-bullet-earphones

As always for Canadians you may want to wait till you can get these on Aliexpress vs. direct from Oneplus unless they've changed their DHL express shipping requirement for us. Crazy costs there otherwise for accessories.
