The softness of the forward group is very evident against the Coyotes. Only line that has been effective is Stajan's, because they actually go in the corners and play down low to create chances.

Looks like the Coyotes have the bagel locked up. Calgary goes 20 some minutes to start the game without a PP, yet again.
Look for the Flames to take a back breaking penalty coming up, Phoenix won't be penalized again tonight either.
Brutal game all around.

This team needs good NHL centers...that's the entire story that this roster tells. Good NHL centre depth helps all over the ice.
This is easily the most talented rosters we've had in recent years, but at the same time it is absolutely the worst constructed roster we've had since Todd Simpson was our captain.

Had to finally change the channel out of sheer boredom. Phoenix is a terrible team to watch, win or lose. Glad to see the Flames' 3rd and 4th line hustling and hitting for most of the game.

Not only deflected off Doan, but broke his stick on the tip. Taylor did good to stop the shot.

It's like the people who want the Flames to lose never expect them to lose, and when they do, they rage about it.
How odd was it that the Flames lost the second half of a back-to-back?

A lot of them thrive in open games, but in games like this there's not a lot of push. The closer we get to the playoffs, the tougher the games will become. There were no camps this year and teams are becoming tighter by the day.

They won't put up with Tippet's style in Quebec City.

Not sure I can agree with you. He's very quiet in the dressing room, not a rah rah guy. We're told he leads by example on the ice. That's not happening. Gets lots of shot but doesn't score. Has played with how many different centers??? They can't all be that bad. It's time to realise he's way past his prime. Trade him for whatever you can get if he'll go. Hopefully to a good team where he can win a cup. He makes good money and I don't believe in this "we owe him" bull. At the very least make someone else the captain.
