They were Jedi, the only witness to a youngling getting killed was Bail Organa who saw a Jedi actively attacking Storm Troopers. The rest is supposition created by known Rebellion Sympathizer George Lucas.
We never saw Lord Vader actually killing those younglings in the temple, he probably used his lightsabre to cut a cake that he bought before sending them off to a new school.
As for Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen, there's no evidence that Storm Troopers did the killing, Luke Skywalker (criminal) stumbled across a scene that could have been the result of a Sandperson attack.
And there's no physical evidence that the Empire or its highly trained Storm Troopers attacked the Sandcrawler, that was war criminal Obi-Wan Kenobi aka Ben Kenobi using a Sandperson attack to twist an innocent boy into joining the rebellion. They didn't find one piece of evidence pointing towards the Empire. Oh sure there were Bantha tracks and Sand People weapons strewn about. But Kenobi even stated in his misguided theory that only Imperial Storm Troopers were so precise and accurate. There fore we know that it wasn't the Empire because Storm Troopers have accuracy problems. . . . serious serious accuracy problems.

Hey, The Karate Kid is a great movie.
It’s the story of a hopeful, young karate enthusiast whose dreams and moxie take him all the way to the All Valley Karate Championship.
Of course, sadly he loses in the final round to that nerd kid.
But, he learns an important lesson about gracefully accepting defeat.
When I watch The Karate Kid I root for the karate kid, Johnny Lawrence from the Cobra Kai Dojo.

There was a great article I think on Cracked that showed that Danny LaRusso was an over sensitive jerk villian in the movie the Karate Kid and Mister Miyagi was a hypocrite who while preaching non violence was always looking for a fight.

I think the obvious direction is to start with the old guys to establish some credibility and then pass the torch so that Hamill doesnt break a hip, Fisher doesnt have a heart attack and Ford doesnt beat them all senseless for being weak!

Why did they make the stupid prequels again? These sequels should have been made a decade or more ago in their stead, when Hamill and Ford were still about to kick some butt. Waaaayy too long in their making.

I'm not ruling out a massive brain hemorrhage.
That or the Wayans brothers are having a 'Weekend at Bernie's' session with George Lucas and hes actually been dead for a decade. You have to admit, he does look like hell.

A Friend and I were talking about this over the weekend and we both came to the conclusion that the biggest thing would be the opening crawl of any new trilogy because it sets the scene for the whole story line.
A Long Time in a Galaxy far far away
The New Republic has had a period of relative peace in the 20 years since the death of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, a tenuous cease fire exists between the Republic and the Imperial Remnant.
Though Grand Master Luke Skywalker has tried to rebuild the ancient Jedi order, there are only a handful of Jedi Knights spread throughout the galaxy.
Upon hearing rumors of Force users in the Imperial Remnant which could spell trouble for the New Republic. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo have been dispatched to investigate by Supreme Councillor Leia Organa former wife of Han Solo.
When the Millenium Falcon vanished Jedi Master blah blah is dispatched with his Padawan Ben Skywalker to investigate.
Then you slide the screen down and see a shattered Millennium Falcon floating in space and a Jedi Cruiser engaging it with a tractor beam.
Then you could do a movie with the main characters in the background while focusing on the new characters. At the very end Ben Skywalker and his Master infiltrate a Imperial Knight training facility filled with force users training, when they turn around they see Luke Skywalker dressed in black armor striding into the training center.

I think this would be an awesome scene. Half the audience would crap their pants.
Not sure about such a Force/Jedi heavy story line though.

We tried to figure out how to do the story eliminating at least some modicum of the force and it doesn't work well.
The Force and Lighsabre battles go hand in hand with the story of Skywalker.
If you didn't have some sort of Force User then Skywalker becomes the ultimate solution in a hurry with his powers.
I kind of latched onto the Imperial Knights concept from the comics where the Republic had Jedi the future empire had Imperial Knights who were almost like the Imperial guards that we saw in Empire.
We also bounced around the idea that Luke and Han went to the empire to investigate, they were captured and Han is imprisoned. Luke is taken in front of the new Emperor who is not force sensitive, but he has found force users and somehow convinces Luke to train them by appealing to his sense of saving the Galaxy from future force user wars and Luke slowly tumbles to the dark side by thinking that he's doing the right thing.
That way we can have some Jedi versus Knight battles, Leia trying to save Luke and her ex husband, the rise of the next generation of Jedi, and the eventual fall to another galaxy wide war between Dark and Light.
Plus there's the possibility that Luke eventually takes out the Emperor and takes the Black throne.

I don't know if anyone has been watching Star Wars the Clone Wars, but the last two story arches, the Darth Maul and the season ending To Catch a Jedi stories were amazing with a very powerfull season finale.
The animation has become very good on this series, and the action sequences have been incredible. Hopefully Disney announces season 6 soon.

yeah I watched a recent episode and it's much much better than it used to be. I only glanced at it before and it seemed like a show for little kids, the new ones had an actual storyline that I found way better than anything the 3 prequels presented. New characters, interesting storylines, decent pacing, proper use of lightsabers... somebody that understands what makes a good story good happened to get involved.
Any advice on when it got good/what season I should start on?

I've liked it throughout, but starting in season four it took on a darker ebb. They had great story lines atatched to the fall of Ventress, the night sisters. The Krell four story arch was probably the best and darkest of the lot til this season. they still have some story lines that are kid friendly, this year they had a jedi children arc that turned out good in the end but started slow.
Even in the first few seasons they had some great story lines, the Manevolence sub plot was very good.
The last two arcs the first of which involving Darth Maul and Savage Opress were very good, you saw the death of a key character, some good fight sequences including the final reveal of Dath Sideous' abilities and the Death Watch. The last story line that ended last night involved Jedi betrayal, Ashoka on the run while being framed and Anakin growing more unhappy with the Jedi and a surprisingly emotional ending.
Season 4 and 5 are worth watching and selected story lines in the first three seasons are worth the time.

thanks, I'll probably check out the 4th season. Even watching a few new episodes filled the void of what the prequels left. I used to like Star Wars but those prequels damn near ruined the entire franchise to me.

TCW to me have really added to my enjoyment of the both the prequels and added to the interpretation of Vader in the ct. The whole he was the best pilot in the galaxy and a cunning warrior and a good friend are really explored.
In the last part of season 5 we see why even without the Sith influence that the Jedi were at the end of their time.
And we've seen several really good rage moments and other moments where he does things to get things done that explains why his fall was coming.
Seeing Tarkin explained and fleshed out were awesome as well.
You can also see the Palpatine genius throughout and the double dealing that he does.
To me what happened in last nights episode is key in seeing why Skywalker falls.

Watching S5E20, this show has better everything than the prequels, I'm surprised. It seems like to be trying making up for the movies,
made more sense than the entire arc with him in the prequels, the people writing these should have input on the new movies, whoever it is knows what storytelling is.

I just watched the Mon Calamari fighting alongside the gungan's underwater. Pretty cool episode, impressive cgi and special effects for an animated show.

Wasn't one of my favorite story arcs but the graphics work was imprssive.
the Arc to watch from that season would be the Krell series (Darkness on Umbara, The General, Plan of Dissent, Carnage of Krell) it focuses on the clone Troopers has none of the main jedi or political characters and really does a good job of showing the Clones as people that think and feel, it also shows how far down the repbublic and Jedi have fallen.
Its probably the best story line in the entire series up until the end two in Season 5.
the Obi-wan arc where he goes undercover is great too
(Deception, Friends and enemies, the box, crisis on Naboo)
Its also a key arc as it leads to Anakin's mistrust of the Jedi. There's also an exeptionally cool confrontation between Dooku and Skywalker where you see Skywalkers rage.
The Ventress fall four story arc was very cool as well,
(Massacre, Bounty, Brothers, Revenge) a lot happens here, you get to see how ruthless Grievous, Dooku and the CIS has become, you get to see Ventress change and become consumed by revenge, and the return of Darth Maul).
Season four is exceptional, there were maybe three or four what I would call throw away episodes.
Even the Slavery story line which is a bit weaker then the ones listed above is very good, you see Anakin confronting his childhood, and the fact that Jedi are only as strong as their will allows them to be.
I've bought the series, but if I was going to pick seasons, 4 and 5 when it comes out would probably top the list.
