yeah, that was on DraftSite. They update their mock very frequently though. They now have us take Monahan at 6, Mantha at 22 and Müller at 28. They now have Poirier at 36, which used to be our 2nd rounder.

I'd actually be okay if the draft turned out like that.

yeah, me too. A center at 6, another forward at 22 and a defenseman with the PIT pick seems like a reasonable strategy for the Flames. Mantha may have been criticized for a "lack of passion", but at 22, can you really pass on a 50 goal scoring winger at 6'4" and 205 lbs? Tough. If Zykov and Wennberg are gone at that point (and I'm afraid they are), then Mantha would be good consolidation price.

With the PIT pick, I still hope that we draft McCoshen ... and I think it's realistic, as he seems like a prototypical Weisbrod pick.

Draft Combine, Heights and Weights, as best as I could come up with (assembling from a few leaks, HF, my own source at the international centre, and the photos on Icon Sports).

draftsite is not a mock draft really, it's the consensus from a bunch of mocks their reads do. you or I could make a mock draft that affects it.

The only thing I like about that site is they have a brief profile for most of the prospects.

Ha! Love the write up on this kid. Anyone Pat Verbeek-esque is okay in my books!

I want to see Dano in Flames silks for personal reasons. His father Jozef was a hero on our local team in the 2nd Austrian league, playing three seasons here between 2003 and 2006. In 106 games, he scored 200 points ... he also had a memorable 24 game scoring streak over 4 months, during which he scored 67 points. Surely one of the best players this league has ever seen and a really nice guy too, he'd always stay on the ice after the games, chatting and taking photographs with fans and writing autographs.

Unbelievable that his kid is already about to be drafted ... time really flies.

Hasn't got great stats but he already has a year in the KHL, which is good. Okay size, interesting player.

Interesting pick. Didn't Weisbrod say skating was the easiest phase of the game to fix?

Not sure if he said that exactly or not, but one thing I know for sure is that I personally would choose a "smart/slow" player over a "dumb/fast" one every single time.

I think this is what he said. Basically, hockey IQ is something that can't be taught and that his scouting department will favour over all else.

Pavel Buchnevich, a talented Russian Forward, who would go higher if not for being signed for two more years in the KHL.

A giant defenceman from Blainville (with roots in the Ivory Coast) who plays for the Victoriaville Tigres, is #57.

If you were a Flames scout: Based on what you've seen of him, would you use a pick on him?
