One thing I've noticed is it's easier to defend in your own zone than before.
Moving guys from the front of the net, check them when they're looking for rebounds, being in the passing lanes etc. is all greatly improved.
Still trying to get used to the skating using L2 when in front of the net though, sometimes my guy does a 180 for seemingly no reason.
|
Definitely easier to intercept now.
One issue I've been struggling with as a D man, is when you're skating backwards beside a forward who is looking to cross crease. When that forward puts on the breaks, if you try to stop your guy juts forward 5 feet leaving the pass open. Maybe I need to release L2 first and the try stopping, but either way it's annoying.

Just a heads up for anyone that's trading. Futureshop is letting you trade 2 games for a NHL 13 Collectors edition. The list is on their site.

Ok so yesterday I pre-order NHL 13 and BO2 from EB. I paid for NHL and only put a deposit on BO2. Can I cancel my NHL preorder and just put that credit towards my BO2 order? I need to know cause they had no more stanley cup editions and I brought 2 games to trade in at future shop today.

^They probably won't let you do that. But the worst they can say is no.

Couldn't you just cancel you're pre order? Get you're money and put it where you wish. One would think they cant stop you from cancelling. I mean maybe but like AR_Six says worst they can say is no.

Well the cancellation thing is why they make you put down a few bucks as a deposit. Usually if you cancel you'd lose the deposit? I guess the other way of looking at it is you could just as easily pick it up and immediately return it, if you wanted to, so there's no point in telling you you can't cancel.

Yea that is true, I suppose that is the reason they take 10 bucks. Around here there is always enough so I never bother pre ordering lol.

That shouldn't be a problem. I know in the past I would often cancel a pre-order from EB if they weren't actually getting the game I wanted on release day and another retailer had it in stock. They'd just refund the pre-order.

oh wow. NHL 12 tradein is GREAT. anyone know another lowcost game to grab around?
I used to follow RFD and have this in the bag, but no car and less time makes it more complicated.

How does Future Shop make money off of that?
I can give them Super Mario Galaxy 2 and NHL 12, games that I will never play anymore, for NHL 13?
Could they even sell those games for a combined $20?

as for eb, there is no penalty canceling a preorder. The deposit is to secure a copy but is fully refundable.

I believe in the Jays.

Does Future Shop often do this 2 for 1 trade in, or is this just a special thing for NHL 13? I'm mostly interested in picking up FIFA 13 when it comes out, but if they don't have the same deal for FIFA then I will probably pick up NHL 13.

They seem to Be doing it for a lot of games now. Just had it for Madden as well.
I can definitely see Fifa havin the same offer, but NHL 12 Wont be on the list at that point
