What's basic about it? You made an unsupported factual claim. If it's so basic you should have no problem supporting it.
You're making a fool of yourself. Every time you claim that you've supported your claims everyone here rolls their eyes. You make big claims, don't support them, and only when pressed will pull up some barely related article or opinion piece. The reason you can't provide solid backing for your position is you don't have a clue what you're talking about. You've painted yourself into a position without reason and are now fighting to back it up.

Reports are bull.. There was a ticket promotion of a buy one, get one for the playoffs but the game would've sold out anyways as they sold a couple thousand standing room tickets for game 1.
Saturday's game is beyond sold out.. I can't get a ticket scalpers?
The Coyotes didn't do give aways at all this year.

$20 for a good tickets (regular season) is pretty much giving it away.

Actually it's $20, so it's not giving it away at all

Where do you get those?

Lowest I could find was $36 for upper level corner to the games I went to this year.
Send me a link to those. Paying $65 for lower level corner last 3 rows for Saturday.
For round one in the playoffs lowest is $40 highest is $390 and they are sold out.

Link?
Or are we talking season ticket price? Like the $13 tickets I had for The Flames in section 310, row 1?

My information is anecdotal - talking to people in the arena. There were cheap (and free) tickets to be had. It could be some of those were obtained second-hand.

What I've got you've got to give it to your mamma
What I've got you've got to give it to your pappa
What I've got you've got to give it to your daughter

Doesn't it? I don't have their financials, I don't know where their losses fall. My comment was mostly due to the cheap shot tactic that seems to be so popular when markets have cheap tickets. Guess what, Calgary has been there before too.

In previous years discounted tickets were pretty easy to come by. But this year they have not been. I usually take the family to a couple of games were we would get some buy one get one free or half off but I didn't see those deals this year. Everything has been for full book so consequently I haven't been able to go to as many games.
Bouw - Go to the coyotes website. There are tickets for sale in the ticket exchange section. A little more than retail but they seem to be available.

Low ticket revenue has to be a concern in any market. When Calgary had problems selling tickets, they were in big trouble too.
http://theviewfrom111.blogspot.ca/20...odel-work.html
Gate revenues are the single biggest driver of the profitability of a franchise, and the disparity of ticket prices among the teams points out the inequality in demand for the League's product in various markets. The high demand for tickets in Toronto skews the median price of a ticket for the NHL. Teams that have consistently struggled on the ice lack leverage to raise ticket prices to meet rising costs as they often play to less than sold out arenas. The dilemma for many franchises is that although League revenues are rising, and therefore the salary cap, the revenue for a particular franchise may not be keeping pace.
Rising League revenues are problematic for franchises that are in smaller markets or are unable or unwilling to raise ticket prices because even though these franchises can choose not to spend to the salary cap, the salary floor is also rising, causing the smaller market franchises to have to spend more money on payroll.

It seems that you aren't trying very hard
Stub hub has 1,776 tickets for sale for Saturday's game
Ticketmaster has a lot as well.
While the prices might seem high for Phoenix theya re justa bit high for a Jets regular season ticket..... if you commit to buying them for 5 years.
Price is being driven up by Hawk fans who can fly into Phoenix and see a game for less than getting into the united Centre.

Definitely agree with this. Sellouts are great, but the bottom line is the bottom line. If you know you can make more money on gate revenue, it should be done. Well, any smart business would do that.

They are selling tickets for $68 and thats probably double of the usual price LOL.
The last time i flew in for a 1st round game in Calgary the tickets cost me more than my flight. Luckily the flames won. Curtis Joseph to the rescue LOL.

I don't disagree, like I said I saw it as a cheap shot at the market. Cheap or free tickets are often part of a long term vision, something that seems to escape people when talking about teams in non-traditional markets. Like any new product there's a period that is spent gaining brand loyalty. Now whether that has been effective or not is a different story.

Or the Chicago ex pats that live here permanently. There are a ton of them. Cubs Cactus league games are always sold out.
Now that I think about it I don't know if that is true.... If you look at the pictures of the games in PHX the Hawks fans should stand out with Red Sweaters with the Coyote fans being in white. Don't recall seeing a lot of red at the first two games. When we play Detroit it is fairly obvious but really haven't seen it this year. There are a ton of people from Detroit here as well.
