Wait, why is the delay Sony's fault? It shouldn't matter how much 'goodwill' Sony has, it's all because of Ubisoft.
It's not Sony's fault, but their launch lineup is getting slimmer, eliminating some of the advantage they have over Microsoft. Why would I buy a system when there isn't a specific game or games drawing me to it? They still have price point and a consistent message over Microsoft of course, but if their launch is not as strong or has a shaky start, let's see how long the "Sony is amazing!" bandwagon continues.
There is literally no rush to run out an buy either of these systems. All of those 3rd party games are coming to current gen systems as well.
There is if you want to play any of those 3rd party games on a next gen console and that's the whole point. I could play Ghosts on my PS3 but why would I when I could upgrade for only $400? And the next gen for both systems is going to boast a pretty big library of launch and launch window titles. Way better than the WiiU that is still lagging with a tiny library a year after launch.

If Killzone is the only reason you see for getting a PS4 at launch I would advise to hold off. The original PS2 game was awful but the two PS3 titles were much better but we are talking about a very middle of the road FPS franchise. I don't expect that to change as it will likely be the same good but not great FPS with a shiny new coat of graphics.

Speaking of which, we finally have direct feed 1080p video (rather than livestream) for the Killzone today. Starts at around 5 minute mark.
EDIT: Man, those lighting effects & shadows and the level size/scope. Impressive as just a launch game - it'll only get better as the consoles age and developers get more experience with the hardware.
EDIT: Apparently this is an older build of the game; it'll be missing some of the newer features that have been announced/shown in the last few weeks and months.
Something that was up in the air for Sony titles (unlike XBox which is mandating dedicated servers for XBox One) but it is a good sign moving forward that the first major title from Sony's first party will be using dedicated servers.
I don't think it is even explicitly console exclusive - just timed. I believe most site have indicated that it'll be a year or so before it comes on PS4.
I picked up my Playstation on Boxing Day 1998. Think one of the first games I played on it was WWF War Zone and I remember thinking that that game was amazing at the time.
Kind of wish they would make a grey variant of the console as a throwback to those old grey gaming systems (Nintendo, Super Nintendo, PS).

This is all making me a little jealous. I wish I could play console games, but there's something about sitting on a couch playing a game with a controller that kills my attention span. I can play on a PC for hours but in a more comfortable chair ... no. It's odd.
I think I'm going to jump in with both feet in this generation and try to game it up.

I also liked how they transitioned from 4:3 to 16:9. And that Domino's pizza box evolution!
Not the best video quality but one thing that steps out immediately is how realistic the player motion is. The way they run and move is almost lifelike.
