That's not for me. The target audience is likely a lot younger than I am.

To be fair though, it was a made for TV movie that was upgraded to a theatrical release, so it's going to have natural limitations.

We might see that show differently. Part of the appeal is how cheesy and poorly acted it is (which also limits it's appeal frankly).

Johnny's pretty good though.

of course Nadel thinks it looks amazing. I'm shocked! It looks like a weird knockoff of Iron Man (the suit) with Spider-Man origin and Ms. Marvel like production value.

It looks ok. I think we're at the point of Super Hero movies where we need to start asking 'do we need this?'. I saw nothing from this trailer (and I know nothing about the character) that shows me something I havent already seen. It looks as generic as everything else that is coming out now.

I have no problem going back to the days of superhero movies being aimed at different audiences. The watering down and attempts to aim superhero movies at everyone are what's bringing about the lack of appeal for me.

I see this Blue Beetle movie as a slightly lower budget film aimed at children and teens. The studios can make movies like The Batman for the curmudgeons like me.

I think the entire origin story was shown in the trailer. Weird choice.

It could work if they rush through the entire origin as a 15 minute pre-title sequence, and accept that people get what a superhero origin story is at this point, a lot of Bond movies follow this format tell a whole story in the first 15 minutes and have the villain from the first story re-appear in the third act of the second. But I doubt that's what they are doing.

the vibe definitely seems like it's in the realm of Shazam / Ms Marvel. and the action looks as good as anything DC has produced. Hopefully they can really tow that line between taking themselves seriously and having fun a little better that either Marvel or DC has been doing.

DC tries to produce fun content, like they are telling the audience "you want fun light hearted marvel stuff we'll show you fun light hearted marvel stuff" without actually enjoying the content for what it is itself. (see Shazam 1 or WW84)

While Marvel looks like they are so overwhelmed by having won the 2010s that they forgot they got there by really just having fun with and enjoying the content themselves. (see pretty much all of ph4, except for W.vison, Loki, maybe hawkeye at points)

Would be nice to see a light hearted superhero movie again that understands where that line is, hopefully this is it.

You too can become a superhero if you get a lucky hamburger.

That movie would be 1000 times better if it was called the Blue Beatle and just have a sad Paul McCartney mope around for 2 hours.

Looks good. I don't think I recognize as many Spider-Men as I should in there.

Need to brush up on my lore, but who's the main cameos this time around? Was that the 90's actor in there to?

A year and a half seems like a long time to finish post filming production for a film that is unlikely to include a lot of special effects editing

It could just be a case of them lining it up with their other releases (and those of Marvel) so they're not competing with each other as much.

From the behind the scenes stuff I’ve seen, Joker 2 looks even more cringe than the first one. Lady Gaga does the stairs dance, they try to make the Harley Quinn outfit translate into a plausible “real world” outfit.

It looks incredibly stupid.

I was thinking it looked like Max Steele. And probably just as bad.

Really do not like how they've handled the Captain Marvel character so far, but that actually looks like it could be good. I'll wait until after audience reviews come out, but may go see it.
