The main character was called Dawson. There was a Creek near his home that he would moan and cry at for the purpose of story exposition, but it wasn't actually called "Dawson's Creek". I never saw a full episode of this but pieced that together from the non-stop ads

There is a town in BC called "Dawson Creek". At Uvic in the late 90s we definitely made fun of the kids from that town.

Either way, it all sounds super lame.

They should do a re-make.

"The Children of Dawson's Creek in their 50s and 60s!"

So and so is a drug addict, this girl has 4 kids and no alimony....that guy goes running into the woods in his underwear with a shotgun shooting at nothing!

The High School stoner who became a Priest and became the town's source for sex and drugs and knocks up the Mayor's daughter.

Who needs AI? We could do this all day!

Nah. I mean network TV sucks. My list of must watch network TV is tiny, but streaming services provide better TV now than we have ever seen before. IMO

I've known some people from Dawson Creek, B.C.

Based on their stories from home, this isn't far off from their reality.

Unfortunately, that's most small town in North America. The meth epidemic of the 2000s is now looked back at as the good ol' days.

Back on topic I don't recommend watching Dawson's Creek....or, for that matter, Grey's Anatomy, which my wife religiously watches.

Hey, I lived there for two years

Pretty accurate. I don't recommend it.

World Chase Tag was just on Sportnet1

Essentially tag with obstacles and parkour.

Entertaining, watch out 2036 olympics!

I randomly ended up watching Chase Tag once. It's quite entertaining.

Yeah the networks are dying a slow death. Streaming has definitely given us a huge quantity of shows to watch, but I’ve found very few lately that I would call great. There isn’t anything I can’t wait to watch like Better Call Saul or Game of Thrones. For All Mankind is close but the seasons on Mars weren’t as strong. I hold out hope it can return to form.

What We Do in the Shadows and Lower Decks are in their final season and after that there isn’t anything funny out there until It’s Always Sunny comes back.

The service I do enjoy is Dropout but it’s pretty niche. It’s mostly comedy game shows and D&D. It’s well worth the money for me though.

Not responding to all, but in regard to comedy Hacks is excellent, imo.

I like Shrinking a lot too. Equal parts funny, heartwarming, and serious.

FX is more of a specialty channel than a straight up standard network channel. I think eventually we'll see companies like that transition to become content creators or all be in similar deals to Paramount+, where they are an add on to other streaming services.

Reality tv is still pretty big on network tv though. My wife has about a half dozen reality tv shows she watches regularly.

I love the casting. Not a group of people you would expect to work so well together, but they do. Ted McGinley is delightful.

Some really good shows going right now, it's hard to keep up.

Day of the Jackal
Shrinking
Cross
Lioness.

Just finished watching the latest episode of Lioness and it's such a good show. My wife doesn't really care for it mostly, she will half watch while I'm watching and then always says This show is stupid. Anyways watching today's episode and she actually starts giving it her full attention and then the show ends and asked if we could watch the next one....unfortunately not for another week. It's one of those rare shows where I'm watching it as soon as next episode is released.
