Ah yes, the airlines equivalent of "you haven't played the game, how would you know?"

Back to some regularly scheduled programming. Just thought I would give a shout out to one of my favorite YouTubers, Flightchops. This guy has a ton of awesome videos flying a bunch of different GA aircraft. I think he uploads every Friday and is definitely worth subscribing to. Here is his latest video:

Hey it's a Boeing CS100.

From Tom Podolec with CTV News:
"
FAA investigating; @AirCanada #AC781 from Montreal landed in San Francisco (Oct 22) after failing to acknowledge 6 go-around requests by ATC"
" Air Canada #AC781 was cleared to land runway 28R by San Francisco ATC prior to go-around requests."
" Air Canada #AC781 did not acknowledge an additional 3 calls by ATC before answering "there's a problem with the radio here"."
" Air Canada #AC781 landed without incident. Go-around request was made due to possible aircraft on the runway."

Springbank Air Training College has just confirmed the accident aircraft was theirs, a twin engine Piper Seneca.

Disheartening news. I did most of my training there, including on the Seneca II (not this one by the sounds of it). I haven’t been there for quite some time but I still know folks there and am anxious to hear the names.

It was indeed GCCM which had just departed runway 17. Very tragic.

I think I flew that machine 20ish years ago.
Very sad for those involved. Another reminder of how terribly unforgiving flying can be.

This may have been a different Seneca, based on the registration search it was only imported into Canada in June of this year and then registered in July. 1975 model:

Yeah I read that it was just purchased this summer from an owner in Texas. Either way, there wasn’t much airplane left after all was said and done, having seen the aerial photo. Very nasty. Some engine trouble and a stall is what you have to naturally think of first I suppose...

I don't like to armchair pilot, the LiveATC recordings from the time of the accident are out there. CCM does radio asking for a "circuit right away", something was obviously up and instead of their departure to points onward they were looking for a return to land via the circuit.
