Hey, at least Houston and Detroit imploded much worse than we have so far. Snail race for the (current and recent) division leaders.

Varsho with a .700 XBA and a home run in 9 ballparks. Easy flyball tonight.
This is painful.

Never mind playoffs if these guys lose the division considering where they were that would be considered a massive choke job.

Nah, if they make the playoffs given were they were in June, this would be considered an awesome season. Be as sad as you'd like. It's tough right now, but it's not like you won't have rough spots in a 162 game season. Need the off day, need to win tomorrow.

I think we see Heineman tomorrow and Tuesday. Kirk isn’t good at all right now. He put up a “fight” in the 9th by fouling off pitches…but there is a difference between fighting off a “pitcher’s pitch” and fouling off pitches that you should be hitting. He wasted pitches that he should have done damage on and you only get one or two like that in an at bat. This is what we saw a lot last year.

Maybe guilty of reading their own press clippings the last week.
Bats have gone October 2023-June 2025 on them the last 4 games. The rock and motivation that was SP has now hit the bricks. Scherzer, Berrios now Bassit. Probably a bit demoralizing.
John Schneider has to pull this all together quick as manager.

Thank christ we end the season with 6 home games. Fricken Tampa and KC on the road. Looked at the schedule a while back and see 7 straight road games in Tampa and KC right at crunch time, two places that the Jays struggle to score and win historically.
One more game and that stretch is behind us, hopefully they can squeak out a win and get some home field juju going and clinch this sucker.

Good call genius.
As long as you keep predicting doom and gloom, you'll eventually be right, and can tell us all about how smart you are with your "facts".

The Yankees lost to Baltimore last night, and have been much more of a trainwreck than the Jays this year, especially defensively and/or when it matters. Our home record (not to mention our overall record) is the best in the AL, and 6/7 games are at home. Don't underestimate the ability of teams with nothing to play for to knock off the highly pressured Yankees. Nobody thought this would be easy, but at least some fans are cheering for them.

To be honest the offence has looked terrible for a while now. They’ve had a couple of good games here and there but it’s been mostly bad. It’s very concerning.

Here's a question. Bo hurt himself and then came out to play after a rain delay with no real issue. So...should he have come out to play that game? or is it weird that it's now a "PCL" injury in the last few weeks of a contract season?...

Here's one way to look at it. At the start of the season, we were a +1800 bet to win the AL East. We are now -650.

I guess I don't get the innuendo here.
The jays pushed their chips into the middle this year (dealt prospects at deadline, burned a yesavage year). They're going for it. If they thought Bo could play they'd want him to.
Similarly, Bo knows its a contract year and will want to play. If he gets his counting stats up more this year he will get more money on his huge FA contract next year. Before the injury he was on pace for more than 200 hits - and he likely would have also had 20HR and 100 RBI. He absolutely would have wanted to play because those milestones are probably worth millions each on his next contract.
Who benefits from him not playing if it's not a bad injury?

Better to have losing streak now than one to start the playoffs. I suspect they might be feeling the pressure to win the division.

He probably shouldn't have but it might not have mattered anyway. Sometimes an injury doesn't feel that bad until the next day.
I think the team would prioritize having the best chance to win over trying to save money on an extention and like bizaro86 said, Bichette is going to want to maximize his value and would want to play.
