I'm overdue for an Underworld Marathon. I don't even think I've seen the last two or three <?> or however many they've made since the first three, now that I think about it.

This week's horror movie theme is a sub genre of horror that I actually don't know too much about, werewolf movies. Here are my recommendations, please give me your suggestions as well:
Ginger Snaps
An American Werewolf in London
The Howling
The Wolfman (2010) - I actually enjoyed this one, while not perfect there is enough in there to enjoy.
Trick R Treat
Wolf
Twilight (jjk)
Here are a few I haven't seen but have heard great things about, they are going on my watchlist:
Dog Soldiers
The Wolfman (1941)
Silver Bullets
Underworld
Cursed
The Cursed came out this year it was actually decent not great. Definitely a few really scary parts.
Just saw the prequel to the 2009 horror film "Orphan" that came out last month. "Orphan: First Kill"
Super enjoyable. Not nearly as creepy/scary but entertaining throughout and even a few solid laughs. If you enjoyed the original I would highly recommend the prequel.
Prequel to "X" directed by Ti West which was filmed back to back, I absolutely loved it. Mia Goth is incredible, there are more than a few scenes that are very impressive. The film itself is colorful and foreboding, great filmmaking.

Is it better than X? X started out great but fell apart in the 2nd half.

Lost Highway may or may not be horror but it's also an underappreciated film and as with Serpent and the Rainbow features Bill Pullman's in a leading role. If you haven't seen either of those and like horror or weird/creepy films you should check them out.

I wound up watching Bound this past weekend. It was on one of the movie channels and my wife left the remote across the room from me and I was too lazy to get up. I actually really enjoyed it. It felt like a slow pace and Jennifer Tilly is one of my least favorite actors but the movie was good. I have a soft spot for movies that have the mob in them and that's what got me hooked and I watched it all and enjoyed it.
I figured this is probably one of those movies that everyone hated but I liked and lo & behold it is rated quite well on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. It's no blockbuster but it's good. Newer movies like this are harder to find, it seems like Hollywood is only interested in superhero or mega franchises these days. If you're not watching Star Wars you're watching MCU or Fast & Furious.... I mean I love all three of those franchises but good movies are often hard to find these days.

Finally saw Top Gun Maverick and Northman on a flight home.
Northman - woof that was a snooze fest. I love the idea of Norse movie as we don’t really have anything but I found myself fast forwarding as there were too many slow parts.
Top Gun - I thought it was well done and a great tip of the cap for nostalgia.
