For Stone it’s either Calgary Flames or a men’s rec league here. I suppose he might take a one way contract and play for the minor league team as long as it’s here, to stay in game shape.
I actually wouldn’t think there’s much interest around the league anyway.
Wonder if Nick Foligno from Boston would be of interest to the Flames. Boston will need to move salary to get under the cap if Zacha rumour is accurate. They could still retain around 1.5 mil which would allow the Flames to fit him in but give them enough cap relief to be cap compliant too. Would be a good 3rd line center, not much offense there anymore I don’t think but a nice veteran presence.
Only 1 year till UFA too so doesn’t hinder us next year. Hopefully had for a draft pick or something

Boston has some key injuries to start the year. Marchand is out til December and I think McAvoy as well. They will be fine with those 2 on Ltir for a couple months
I hope the Flames stay away from Foligno. Either do something bigger or stay put. Rather the kids play over a Foligno

So odd to me if this is the case. Stone shouldn't be in any team's top 4 at this stage but he is steady on the bottom pair. It's already been mentioned on this forum but the guy sits for 10-15 games and then comes in for 2 or 3 and doesn't look out of place at all. He's pretty perfect for the Flames as you don't want a prospect up with the club but in the press box every game and Stone does this without complaining or losing a step. Maybe his price to other teams is higher than what he's willing to take from Calgary given his roots in the city.
