Nothing crazy about Trump supporters. Nope, nothing at all.

Reminds me of Palin though he does a much better job of it. It resonates with the born again crowd although if well done it will return to the question or topic and not wander down the garden path to no where.

just a few comments on some of the previous posts...

-women do make up a slight majority of the electorate AND they have significantly better turnout than men

-Clinton has decades of advocacy for minority and women's rights. There are a lot of things not to like about her but she has done an awful lot of good for those groups and will have their votes.

-GOP has seemingly given up on the Latino vote

-Kasich is the least crazy of the GOP and in fact a decent guy. But the crazy around planned parenthood and other things that is universal in the GOP platform makes them impossible to vote for (if I could vote)

-I often wonder what would happen if I used Trump speak during a meeting. I'm too scared to find out

-I think Cruz gets the nomination. I don't think that helps the GOP. He's got a whole bunch of crazy in him as well that simply hasn't had a light put on it. Democratic strategists are licking their lips for either Trump and Cruz. They can't wait to actually start the presidential race. It should be a bloodbath even with Hillary as the nominee.

-Checked out the reality check from CNN covering the town hall last night. A whole long list of "false" from Cruz and Trump.

I can't quite grasp the concept of a woman in her right might voting republican.
Perhaps because Kasich's daughters would likely not need to avail themselves of Planned Parenthood's services.

Does the rest of the interview go something like:

"I did not start this. I could have. I could start it better than anyone else. I have friends that can start it, many many friend. I can start it better than anyone else."

I was watching that and, even more than the the stupid things he said, what stood out was that the idea of "being the bigger man" or "just acting like an adult" seemed completely foreign to him.

There was no way he wasn't going to insult Cruz's wife. He had to do it, and to not do so would be a sign of what is wrong with this country.

Well I'm guessing we'd never fight out until her terms were done.

Trump must be paying his mouthpieces Jeffery Lord and Kayleigh McEnany very well for going on CNN every night to defend him. Shame can be sold.

I do a bunch of online panels/surveys for Ekos, and receive periodic newsletters with selected results.

Today's newsletter focused on elections.

Canadian views on the US election.

72% of respondents said they would be a supporter of the Democrats. 17% Republican. 7% neither, 4% NR.

If we could vote in the Democratic primary, 50% would vote Hillary, 41% Bernie.

If we could vote in the Republican primary, 30% Trump, then Cruz and "don't know" tied at 16%. Rubio 15%.

I guess the part of that I find odd is that EKOS thinks anybody cares what Canadians, who don't have a dog in the fight and can't vote, think about the US presidential election...

I know. What a bizarre response. I mean -- if we can't post tasteless pictures of our political opponents' spouses on the web and then point at them and cry like a baby about it, then... the terrorists have won?

We do have a dog in the fight though. What the US does weighs heavily on our own fortunes. What we don't have is the ability to impact the outcome. Canadians do follow the politics down south - as this thread indicates. I would take the poll merely as an indication of what one set of interested outside observers believe.

Much of the newsletter focused on Canadian politics though. Of note, Kevin O'Leary is not a popular choice for the Conservative leadership.

1) I'm sure you're referencing abortion here, which covers 3% of all PP services. Kasich's family has money and power, and if his daughters needed an abortion, they wouldn't be forced to turn to PP for it.

2) Kasich's daughters also wouldn't have need for the other 97% of PP's services, because their father is a wealthy politician and has access to government sponsored, high-quality healthcare. So for their cancer screenings and annual checkups and birth control, they can go to a regular OB/GYN. But for low income families, there are no other options for those services without PP.

Look at Texas, at the vast dearth of accessible women's healthcare in the state since they defunded PP. The defunding of PP closed lots of clinics that never even offered abortions, so the GOP's message of we're just worried about women's health! by adding unnecessary restrictions to PP meant that a lot of other clinics were unable to provide treatment to the women who need that help the most.

You can disagree with abortion, fine. But PP does incredible work, work that protects a huge group of women who otherwise do not have access to that care.

Well, no, I'm not, and my comment, which made no reference to "abortion" did not either.

I am not aware of anyone in the United States--male or female---who does not have access to health care.

Whether such a person can afford the health care that they can access is another matter, but that isn't necessarily the government's role to ensure.

Only the obtuse would say you can "access" something if you can't afford it.
