That's his patented move that's worked for him his entire career. It seems at least a small handful of officials actually watch the film and are wise to this move. It's actually pretty pathetic he would even argue about that when he clearly initiated contact and took down the Devils player.

“What’s he supposed to do”? Maybe not initiate the contact and grab onto the guy and then flop. All away from the play (you really know it’d a dive when he wasn’t going to do anything with the puck anyway).
