Yes, I will be there for the group stage. Have tickets to the three Canada games, Brazil-Serbia, and Netherlands-Qatar so far. I will probably end up going to more games
Drink a non-alcoholic beer for me please.

Canadian star Alphonso Davies, who suffered a cranial bruise after taking a boot to the head last weekend, was back in action Sunday as Bayern Munich blanked SC Freiburg 5-0 in Bundesliga play.
The win at Allianz Arena moved Bayern (5-1-4) up one place into second, dropping Freiburg (5-2-3) to third.
Davies played the full 90 minutes and was clocked at 36 km/h during the match.
CF Montreal wins their MLS first round playoff matchup 2-0. All the Canadians looked pretty darn good, especially Koné (scored the first goal). Excellent for Canada as they keep playing and keep their match fitness up. And they’re darn fun to watch, Montreal plays beautiful soccer

Kone is such a good player. Can't wait to watch him and Eustaquio boss the midfield for the next decade.
Also Piette has had the best season of his career. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get some minutes in Qatar. Big step up from the start of the year where it looked like he'd be depth at best.
It can never be understated how much the motivational techniques, attitude, organization, game planning and team psychologist role that Herdman did and was, has gotten this team to where it has. Players should be wanting to run through walls for the guy.
Shame these things have to have Wheeler as part of the soundtrack;
over theatrical at the best of times, but especially pumping up goals vs Suriname and Bermuda the same way he does for some more meanigul matches later on (and of course any Forge goal).
Watched back the first one; no mention that COVID was the sole reason we even had a 2nd chance in qualifying at this WC, which should be part of any story, not that it has to be apologized for.
Another friendly announced, this time against Bahrain on November 11. CSA specifically mentions that this friendly is primarily for the MLS players who will be out of season.
Long article but based on the hit I just saw on tsn with Westhead here’s the coles notes:
- Davies and other players have said no sponsor can use individual players in their ads unless they have individual deals with the players. Deal with CSA isn’t good enough. Group shots will continue to be used.
- Fanatics can no longer sell Davies jerseys until a deal for royalties is negotiated for Davies
- players and staff can’t keep any gear they’re given for training camp. Seriously. They have to give it back at the end of camp.
- coaches and staff have to fly economy class
Meanwhile:
- CSA spent $11k on custom suits for board members for when they go to the WC
- CSA passed a resolution that CSA president can fly 1st class on all flights of 3 hours or more.
There’s lots of stuff in the article he didn’t discuss on the hit in TSN and a few things he mentioned on tv not in the article I think. The article goes into great detail about the insane deal between the CSA and a company called CSB. It reeks to high heaven of corruption.
Not a good look a month before the World Cup starts.

It’s good to head into next month with nothing but positive vibes…
The CSA seem to be doing their best to destroy all the momentum built recently
If the team wants to wear generic red and white shirts with no CSA crest I have no issue.
This has been gone over before but the fact that the CSA is a puppet for those in the CSB is troubling. Deal signed under cloak of darkness 3 years ago.
CSB controls inflows and outlws of cash and spensong, becuase the CSA gets an allowance from them and that's it. If the CSA gets any government money, that should be stopped right now.
This group is in full control of the WC for 2026 as host nation. And this for profit company also dictates the funding to give to the CSA for grass roots.
$11k on suits probably isn't a big deal becuase there's close to 15 board members on the CSA, I am sure the expenses with in Qatar for board members and anyone else on the CSA and CSB gravy train will exponentially exceed that, as will the schmoozing the CSA and CSB will do for the next 4 years.
Giving back Nike tracksuits and jackets is hilarious.
Good for Westhead on staying on top of all this.

Reminds me of the Irish at the USA World Cup '02
