I enjoyed Darryl this episode, especially when he told Carol she looked ridiculous.

This actually bugged me. They already know that the townies use listening devices. You'd think they'd be a lot more careful about what they talk about, especially "taking the town".

You make it sound like Rick gives a crap about people eavesdropping on him. Rick could just announce he is taking over and those little softies would just obey.
What would you do if you overheard the world's biggest badass saying something like that? I would try to be his friend.

Did anyone notice when they were turning in their weapons how Carol struggled to handle and remove that massive automatic rifle she supposedly carries around everywhere she goes?

The point was that she was acting feeble, trying to look weak. The actress and the character are terrible though.

What's up with the Carol hate? She's an original gangster man.
If Carol is terrible, what do you classify Lori, Andrea, young Carl, Tara, etc as?

Don't buy her as a hard ass at all. It's the actors fault, she's terrible.

I think Carol was trying to portray herself as weak so she could get that job that sounded like it would be working with the community/youth. Remember at the prison she was holding those 'get-togethers' with the youth, and was teaching them hard life skills like killing the walkers.
I think she acted weak because she and the rest of the group can tell the community is weak.
Overall, this was my favourite episode of the season so far. I'm just happy to see it going somewhere.

Yeah I get that but who would walk around for days on end to near dehydration with that gun that you can't handle? The whole scene was just funny to me as they had been following the group for weeks, knew the names of the group before they met, they knew who was the leader and who did what, and surely would know that Carol isn't the ditz she's portraying herself as.

Who knows how long they have been following the group though? As far as we know, they could have just been following them since Atlanta, in which case Carol was in a wheelchair for a while, and likely limping along after. She hasn't done anything badass since her incognito infiltration of Terminus. She could easily play a feeble woman being carried by that group.
Anyway great episode. I even appreciate seeing a little bit of humour in it with Carol's fumbling around and dressing all old and stuff lol. And I actually enjoyed the acting from the main group. They just seemed so wild, feral and confused within that community.

I quite liked the humour in regards to Rick shaving off his beard. That and the comments on Carol's clothing made for nice lighthearted moments for a show what can be grim and dreary for long stretches at a time.

Not sure if a lot of people noticed but the comic book Carl picked up in the empty house had Wolf Fight on the back.
More allusion to the Wolves not far?

Did anyone watch The Talking Dead after the show? Chris kept mentioning an Easter Egg somewhere in the episode. Did I miss something or did they not get around to showing it?

Didn't the book also belong to the weird girl who had curiously managed to survive outside on her own.

I believe the easter egg was that the walker that Carl piped in the head was a cameo by Scott Ian from Anthrax.

Apparently there was Latin on Rick's new shoulder badge that means "we will rise again". The Governor said that back in season 3.

I always thought Melissa McBride (Carol) as one of the more natural performers on the show. I've enjoyed the transition of the character and the diversity of the actor.
The end really set up the rest of this season well. Once again, I'm excited by the possibilities with another new direction. I hope I'm not let down.
Could we see the main group become the villains?

My hypothesis is that the girl doesn't/ didn't survive on her own, but has infiltrated the sleepy town as an innocent littl girl and is reporting her findings back to her underground gang a few miles away. She has recently reported that Officer Friendly and His Gang of Misfits have arrived in the town.
She plots a scenario that incites Rick to attack the sleepy towns people - mystery group attacks Rick once the battle is over and Rick is spent - Chaos ensues - Town destroyed - time to find a new town.
God I hate when I'm right.
