I wonder if we will see something almost identical to Obamacare (ACA) but better and more fantastic just because it came from Trumps team.

Ours went down/stayed the same. As did many others. Especially for people working for companies that self insure (the large corporations). Some went up. Some of those went up because they were paying zero before and had to get some. Some went up because in some areas a lot of high risk people came on board. Almost all actual scientific based literature believe it did slow the rate of increase. There was never a chance of stopping the increase given it's controlled by profit margins and insurance lobbies.
It's a complex issue that can be solved pretty easily if americans weren't brainwashed to believe certain things were communist and a way out for lazy people to continue being lazy on someone elses dime. A certain thing they already put more public money per capita into that any other country (exclude switzerland). A thing a very large number of people don't actually recognize as being socialized medicine because stupid/uneducated.

I don't read his responses that way. He is saying Human's Caused, consequences of warming difficult to predict, need to do something, we should keep a seat at the table, problem needs to be addressed globally.
That's about the most liberal position on climate change a republican has ever taken.
|
Okay, I'm just saying I'm pretty sure I heard him say 'inconclusive' a couple times.
Quote:
In the past, Tillerson has articulated a more nuanced position on climate change than other Trump cabinet nominees. He repeatedly has acknowledged the potential consequences of climate change and the impact of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere, but has questioned the reliability of climate models and suggested humanity has bigger problems to tackle.
|
If that's the most liberal position from a Republican then that's pretty sad. Baby steps, I guess.

You really have to wonder how Trump thought this would play out before he announced his run.

You're making the huge assumption that he thinks before acting.

Our First Stand: Save Health Care, January 15
https://berniesanders.com/ourfirststand/
On Sunday, January 15, Democratic members of Congress, trade unions, senior groups, health care activists and all those who believe in economic and social justice are organizing a day of action to tell Republicans loudly and clearly: You are not going to get away with it.

GOAT!

What baffles me the most about this whole thing is that the guy is an honest-to-God d-bag. Like, there have been unpopular (and even crooked) Presidents before, but I can't think of a single one that was ever an actual, literal a**hole like Trump.
Good grief, America.

So about those documents on the table during the presser....
Which begs the question, why were they even there?

An American and an Australian professor who were kidnapped in Kabul five months ago have pleaded with US president-elect Donald Trump to help secure their release in a video released by the Taliban.
The video, uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday and apparently filmed on 1 January, is the first public sign of life of the two teachers since their abduction.
Kevin King, 60, an American, and Timothy John Weeks, 48, an Australian, were violently kidnapped on 7 August outside the campus of the American University of Afghanistan where they both taught.
In the 13-minute video, the pair – who are are visibly distraught and occasionally break into sobs – beg the American government to negotiate with their captors. The Taliban appear to have demanded the release of several “soldiers” in exchange for the professors.

Reminded me of this article:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...ticle29761342/
“I do … want to make one thing perfectly crystal clear: Canada does not and will not pay ransom to terrorists, directly or indirectly,” Mr. Trudeau told reporters at the conclusion of a Liberal government cabinet retreat west of Calgary on Tuesday.
“Paying ransom for Canadians would endanger the lives of every single one of the millions of Canadians who live, work and travel around the globe every single year.”
Don't like the guy but he has a point.

So in other words- Trump : "let me show you how transparent I am by placing piles of documents on a table that you aren't allowed to look at"

so far it's been very effective in removing some of the shine on the actual content of the press conference.
