I hope when they cone out there is a full discussion of everything that’s not privileged. That’s what should happen.

Mian using her time before the votes to make it official that she will not seek re-election.

Big loss for council. She was a good voice that is a great advocate for her ward.

Reads to me like they're paying lip service to the province's idea in order to get work started on the SE leg, likely hoping that by the time they're ready to build downtown, they can go back to the plan everyone wanted in the first place.

It doesn’t actually say if they are building above and below ground. They are doing a functional planning study and making recommendations to stake holders.
Im team separate lines that didn’t connect but that appears to have sailed.

Fairly fresh off the heels of Mian's announcement, now Walcott won't be running for re-election:
https://calgary.citynews.ca/2025/02/...ott-relection/
He may not have been the best councilperson, but at least it seemed like he cared about Calgary and was a councilperson for the right reasons.
If the good ones are choosing not to seek re-election, the UCP slate party should easily end up with a majority of the next city council

He was an absentee councillor, unfortunately, and really didn't endear himself to constituents. Losing Mian sucks.
Slava will be overjoyed to hear the latest rumblings are that Kourtney Penner won't be returning either.

I've heard this complaint about him as well. If he wasn't personally interested in your issue then you got ignored.

Are you just trying to excite me, only to pull the rug? I saw a Twitter exchange between her and Rob Ward, and from that, I assumed that she was running again.

I saw it on Reddit in the thread mentioning that Walcott was out; I wouldn’t be surprised if it is true.

My only concern is Myke just might be too nice a guy for politics.
