This is not an unexpected result. Canada needs to go through this loss to prep for this level of competition.

That is why I don't like us playing with 3 in the back, when your outside backs are so short.

A few times now our CBs have not marked well inside our box and that time Canada was punished. I think Johnston twice in particular has not marked Nunez

A pretty decent first 23-24 minutes despite the goal against. The last 10 minutes have been ugly. Lots to learn from this though like Ozy said. Just need to stick together and keep working.

Nice attacking spell in the 38/39 minute. Larin needs to hit that first time!

Canada looks pretty decent tbh. Just need to learn to defend against countries that counter as well as these sides.

Wow. How does the ref not give advantage there. We literally had a breakaway.

Nice rebound to finish the half. Wish we had Tajon on that right side today.

Yea, having Buchanan on one side and Davies on the other, going at defenders, would be a nightmare to defend for anyone. Laryea not doing much atm.

KJ pointing out how easy our two man midfield is to play through. Wonder if we see a change to a three man midfield in the second half

Ismael Kone has punched his ticket to Qatar in the second half (if there was any doubt left). Looks really composed out there

I thought Canada played really well this second half, all things considered! Some good positive takeaways from this.

The good: we carried play
The not so good: we struggle in the final third to create real quality chances.
- Struggle defending counters with 3 in the back and lack physicality/size in our wing backs
Quite pleased with this game overall. Great learning experience heading into the WC.

Yeah you can't be upset with this one outside of some midfield and defensive farts, but overall a great effort. Estaquio is a chefs kiss midfielder for us.

Hoilett looked good on the right. Laryea looked like a shell of his former self which is quite concerning considering he's going to have a 5 week layoff heading into the world cup.
Johnston and Vitoria looked a little exposed against this level, but I think they'll take it away with the coaches and learn from it and improve. They're the starters for a reason
Need better touches in the opponents box. Hopefully either Larin or Ugbo (or both!) get on a tear for the respective clubs and enter the WC full of confidence. Canada is going to have to be ruthless in front of net as we're not going to get many opportunities and they'll have to make them count.

Watched the last 30 minutes or so and thought Canada controlled the play, although that was likely a function of Uruguay being up 2-0 already.
I think Kone has played his way onto this World Cup squad. Liked Corbeanu and Buchanan running at defenders. Buchanan will be critical to this national team's success with how he runs at the back line. Thought Davies tried to do to much, which he tends to do against bigger opponents. Multiple times he got into a great position in attack and had options on the wing and just drove into defenders giving the ball away. Some hesitancy in attack as well, sometimes you just need to get a shot on target.
This window went about as expected, IMO.

Is there a reason why Buchanan didn’t start? Having him and Davies will really help on the wings. Davies usually had multiple defenders on him when he has the ball. Another threat will definitely help with that.

He's just coming back from injury so his club team only wanted him to play 15 mins in the window.

I didn't watch, but that is concerning to read. Canada's strength is in attack (Tajon, Larin, David, etc). The midfield and backline leave much to be desired IMO, but I thought attack wouldn't be an issue.
