NHL 11 General Discussion

Just when I was starting to get into this game I run into a glitch that has basically sucked any fun out of it. I was amped to play a WHL season, would have been great to go through a year with the Hitmen and get to the Mem Cup. Unfortunately there are 2 huge glitches in the CHL mode.

Any game against Saskatoon or Swift Current results in the infinite load screen, which I can handle (as long as I didn't see them in the playoffs) but is still ridiculous.

But the real ridiculous glitch, and one that really is completely unacceptable, is that CHL teams can sign anyone in the free agent pool. So Turco is now starting for Spokane. The fact that they added this mode and didn't close this massive issue tells me that they either didn't spend more than an hour on the mode, or they simply don't give a fata. According to the EA boards this issue has been known of from day one, and yet no patch or resolution in sight. To me this reeks of a developer that knows they're going to get ales regardless of what they put out there. The physics are great, the gameplay is challenging, but if you can't figure out a way to keep 40 year old players out of juniors you deserve a slap.

Maybe once the seaosn starts. I started a Be A GM and it started well enough, a tough (if unrealistic) loss to the Oilers 5-4. Good, I like that I will have to work for my wins. Next game 9-1 over L.A. Okay, maybe I just was awesome and LA's goalie were awful?

Florida 4-3 win in a shoot-out. Now we're talking.

Next game, against the Oilers? 8-0. WTF!

I haven't played since, but i really don't want to have to play a million games to figure out settings and then start my seaosn over. Meh. NCAA is my game of the year this year thus far.

What I've gotten for changes (for Be A GM mode) so far:
- Increase Slapshot Power by 1 marker
- Decrease Shapshot Accuracy by 1-2 markers
- Increase Wrist Shot accuracy by 1 marker

before tuners (when game came out) goalie was getting like a .920 save % and my PK was like 85% on like 20 shots against / game

now that tuners have come out my PK has dropped to 75% and the save % has dropped to .899 with like 15 shots against / game or less

really frustrating when the CPU scores 3 goals in 7 shots, 6 goals in 10 shots at times and only 1 or 2 of those actually are good.

complaining is worthless. the only reason people dislike the game is because they suck at it.

I'm not sure if this has been asked recently, but does anyone know when the first offline roster update will be?

I really wanna start playing Be a GM, but not until the proper rosters are in place.

Just some really bizarre goals happening. When a goalie tries to toss the puck with his trapper, 9 times out of 10 he throws it into his own net.

I've noticed in a one goal again with the computer trailing in Be a Pro that his last shot will go in three quarters of the time.

Saw a funny glitch when my friend was playing Be A Pro mode. He broke his stick on a shot and went back to the bench for a line change. A couple of minutes later one of the CPU players tripped over the broken stick. He was given a tripping penalty while he was on the bench.

Indeed it is. I am going to see if I can draw a penalty by tripping over a stick that the computer broke.

So has anyone figured out how to move a player from your collection directly to your active roster in HUT?

I have two goalies on my active roster who are in my lineup. I want to send one of those to my trade pile. But if i do that, I'll have an empty space on my roster. Because I can't move anyone to my active roster at will (which is dumbfounding) I can't put him on the trade block because my roster would be incomplete... and I wouldn't have the ability to complete it, without buying a new pack of cards and praying I get a goalie card.

So stupid.

The absolute worst thing about HUT is card management.

There's a solution. You can make an empty spot if you don't have one already. Select the empty spot (both in lineup and scratches pile), and you'll get prompted if you want to search for a card. Just search for goalies, and you will get all the goalies that are in your collection.

Online died for me after 2 weeks. I should get back on it though, haven't played in over a month!

This is the problem with most online games for me, no matter the genre. The only time I play this game online is vs people that I know. It's just not worth my time otherwise.
