With the latest outage (which wasn't very long really) - I do not understand what this analyst is saying:
He also said RIM could experience further outages because the company routes all of the traffic through its servers, which are getting more and more taxed with data.
If they are indeed falling behind, how can the servers be MORE taxed? Anybody got any insights on this?
They are still growing strongly, that's why. The popular perception is they are shrinking, but the reality is the market is constantly expanding, so even though they are rapidly losing marketshare, their total number of subscribers is still growing at a decent clip.

well I guess thats true MMF...but Im not the kind to rush out and buy a new phone every 6 months or year just on hype. the 9900 is a very solid phone and based on my discussions with a few of the engineers here in Waterloo Im sure the 10 will be a great opportunity for RIM to get some market share back.
Lets be clear though...they will never be the top again or have the same market share, too many players now vying for the same thing.
RIM will not die...that I guarantee....and as a Canadian Im all for that.
The BB is an excellent business phone...the best on the market as far as Im concerned.
Oh that's all fair Cheese, I wasn't making any sweeping general statement against RIM or their future.. was just talking about bb10 and the every lingering delay of it.
I've moved from BB to Apple to Android, and I'm a 1.5-every-2 years new phone type of guy.

Nope wasnt suggesting you were...and I hear that all the time anyways.
I think Torsten has done a good job this time not over promising and sticking with a deadline that will ensure success.
I too prefer the android over the overhyped iPhone....but then again Im just not into playing games on my phone or having a million apps that I never use.
Guess Im simple that way.
Oh man, still not sure what to think of this new video. It totally reminds me of the cartoon character ad campaign they had to retract a few months ago. Well, at least people are talking about it I guess.
I know it is early and I can't understand what the guys is saying but I don't see anything ground breaking in that video. I'm not sure copying the iPhone is going to be enough for old RIM.

Good enough for Samsung good enough for RIM.
This is their last chance to save anything on the consumer space for RIM.
