^^^ I was hoping it would turn more into what Andy Samberg did at James Franco's roast. Instaed it just missed altogether.

Kinda seemed like they found that corny leather jacket and said "hey you look like a hack, stand-up comedian" and made a skit from there. Coulda had potential but delivery was a bit lacklustre. Cecily was really good for her first Update. She and Taran Killam are the funniest from last year's group.

It's a character Kyle Mooney had created prior to SNL, there's some older stuff on his YouTube channel with the same character.

I'm just not sure if it works right on SNL. I thought it was a clever satire of bad stand up comedians, but since the point of it is to generate zero laughs it's going to be death in front of a live audience.

My vote for favourite from last year is Vanessa Bayer. Kate McKinnon is actually solid as well. There's some good talent on the show. They just gotta up the writing.

I did find the Model-T skit pretty hilarious though.

Too bad most everything else was terrible. The only positives were 50 Shades of Grey auditions, Weekend Update, Vanessa Bayer's crazy poetry teacher and the Miley Cyrus perfect girlfriend bid at the end.

The ``we can stop video`` was awesome! This was probably the best episode since the JT one last year.

What? You don't like see through mesh oversized shirts with just undies underneath?

It was too much Miley for me, frankly. I just don't like her, so having her host and sing was too much. I'll give her credit for being able to poke fun at herself, but again, it was too much. Between her twerk reenactments to using her song to parody the US govt shut down... I would like her to fade into obscurity, at least for a little while. I'm sick of hearing about her.

She has kind of an irritating, abrasive personality. I don't know that she really has the body or the looks for all these attempts at sexualizing herself either. If I am going to gawk at a trashy, grown-up, teen pop princess trying to be sexy, I'll take a Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera any day!

I didn't think the episode as a whole was very good at all. It had a couple of decent moments but overall the characters are annoying and its not funny.

I finally turneed channels with the flakey poetry teacher, cause I wanted to murder her.

I've come to hate her too, but I'd have to say, she was about as least annoying as possible on the show.

I thought the writing was extremely poor on the Miley episode and can't fault her for that. All the skits were pretty lame.

Yeah she wasn't the reason why the episode was so meh. They have a decent cast, but need better writers.

I did, however, enjoy the burlap bag Miley wore during We Can't Stop.

I started watching SNL around 1987 when I was a kid, during the early 90s I watched every week but completely stopped and have not watched at all over the past maybe 15 years. Recorded the last show and scanned through, I was completely straightfaced, must be one of those shows where you were into it for a time and completely lose interest. I just have not cared about any of the new cast, including Fallon.
