Honestly,. Demko is as good or better than Wolf so that ace in the hole is nullified and they have more guns. It’s not a great matchup for the Flames.

You guys are overreacting. Back to back games in rivals home openers. They'll look better vs the Blues.

And we know that because of his extensive history of success as a professional coach?
He has taught this team to play scared, boring hockey.
He should give Wolf half the salary from his extension, because that's the only reason he got it.
Dude went off the board to keep Cooley and then won't play him in. A back to back with travel to open the season. Pathetic.

Not to mention a back to back to start the season against a fully rested team

Wolf is elite, do you know how impressive it is to almost drag this group into the playoffs last year?

.914 last night. He was excellent.
Tonight he's not sharp because he played 65 minutes and an 8 round shootout 20 hours earlier.
The team should have a backup they can trust to start, this is on them.

Meh, we all should have seen this coming. 8 rounds shootout, on a plane to Vancouver, and playing again in less than 24 hours. The deck was stacked against the Flames tonight.
Take the lessons that better have been learned and move forward.

Will you? Or will you always find SOMETHING to be upset about.
I'm thinking the latter.

But actually - why the hell didn't Conroy pick up Daws or DiPietro for free?
What was Connie doing?

100% - move on from this. I thought I'd be angrier but I'm not. Some goals earlier would have changed the game for sure but they didn't come, so the ending makes sense. Win on Saturday and it's a goo start to the season, whether you want to tank or or want to make the playoffs.

Same posters, same routine as last year.
Not discussing the game, just venting.

Yeah I really never understood going to him B2B to start the season with travel and an OT game. Seemed panicky to me to make that decision now.
Cooley should have started.
The forward lines are a bit wonky with Pospisil and Huberdeau out but really they still aren't ideal and I don't like Lomberg-Kirkland as a duo on the 4th line at all.
Once healthy it should be:
Huberdeau - Kadri - Coronato
Gridin - Frost - Sharangovich
Zary - Backlund - Coleman
Farabee - Pospisil - Klapka
The team not upgrading or adding a LD was an issue too. Neither Hanley or Bean are top 4 dmen
Weegar - Andersson
Bahl - Parekh
Hanley - Pachal
That might be worth a shot in the short term TBH - load up that top pair and play them 28 minutes a night
