Guy should’ve sent back to Junior and play at the WJ’s. There’s nothing good to come from playing on this stank team. He’s playing minimal minutes and not in any important situations. Until this team and management can sort out what they are he’s not gonna learn by playing with Lomberg and Bean/Hanley. A change in coach or management this season is probably likely and we’ve seen how changes up top negatively impact young guys coming up in the system in past years. What’s the rush? He will be good for a long time if they get him off this stank team right now.

It has been 11 games. St Louis had a longer winning streak to beat the Flames into the playoffs last season.
Finally being put on PP1 should help him loosen up and gain confidence in the offensive zone, which is far more valuable than sitting. He's probably already watched hours of tape already in addition to what he's learning on the ice. He just needs more reps and to be allowed to make some mistakes.

This post is crap, based on a crap premise and plain old incorrect information.
a. Parekh doesn't play minimal minutes. Last game he had 16 minutes, which is about his average, and was not the lowest Dman, let alone lowest on the team (eg, Lomberg had 8 minutes).
b. He's played PP2, PP1 and empty net situations. I suspect he was on the list for overtime against Montreal but that ended too quickly.
c. He will learn 100X more on an NHL roster - any NHL roster - than in junior.
d. He can still play World Juniors.

Wow this shows a complete lack of insight and talk about a crap post…
1. He has been one of the lower minute defenceman on the team, and it’s been by design as Huska wants to protect him.
2. Suspecting he was on a list for overtime…that speaks for itself in how useless the comment is.
3. 100x more? Did you calculate this using some complex algorithm? Or pull it out of you know where?
My point was my opinion, and if we can respect what people think or believe then why even bother coming on here or commenting? We all want the same thing, what’s best for the Flames. Calling people comments out as crap and following up with a heaping pile of it is pretty rich, no go away.

Your opinion was crap, because it's based on incorrect facts. 16 minutes per game for a rookie is just fine. He's 11th among rookies, including ones with more pro years. In fact from his draft year, he's 4th in games played, and among rookies from that year, he's behind only Schaeffer (1OA), Senneke (3OA), and Buium in ice time.
And he's been put in important positions, leaving aside OT. He's been given PP1 in the last two games, plus he's been out in every EN situation despite his tendency to get caught at the blue line.

I would prefer he plays in the WJCs then returns to Calgary. There is nothing for him to learn in the CHL, other than bad habits.

Bruh you the fact police here?
1. He has been one of the lower minute defencman on the team (TRUE! He's 5 of 8 in TOI/GP and that/s being generous cause he's had more special teams than Hanley, otherwise he'd be 6th).
2. Suspecting Parekh was on the overtime "list" according to you (CRAP! You made this up in your head and thought it was a fact).
3. He will learn 100X more in the NHL (CRAP! You made this up in your head and thought 100X was a fact).
Parekh is a stud and I am sure he will figure it out. It's unfortuante it has to be surrounding this kind of situation this early in the year. IMO, it can't be good for confidence or development.
Let's move along here...

Actually he is 6/8. Only Hanley and Pachal have less. He is close to Hanley and then there is a bigger jump to get up to Bean.
Personally, i am not concerned about ice time. I think he is only borderline ready for the NHL and needs to be sheltered as much as possible.

How often does that happen? If he is good enough for the NHL then he shouldn't play in a Junior tournament.

He’s 5th in TOI and 5th in TOI/GP.
You’re counting Miromanov’s 1 game.

LOL, I said to ignore the OT. Yet you continue on it.
He's above almost every other rookie this year in ice time, especially ones who were drafted in 2024. He's 4th among that entire group. he's getting a fine amount of ice time for a 19 year old Dman (8th youngest player in the NHL).
Do you deny that PP1 is not an important situation? Or when the goalie is pulled?
You've made up a situation in your head and are desperately trying to invent things to make it true.
100X or not, he will learn more from being in the NHL than with the Saginaw Spirit and Chris Lazary.

Not often but not exactly unheard of. Shane Wright, Matthew Poitras, Brandt Clarke, Martin Necas, Anthony Duclair, Evan Bouchard, Curtis Lazar all went. Bergeron did as well but there was a strike/lockout at the time.

What would be the point of sending him to junior? Is he going to learn something there?

Three of TSN's projected top 6 defensemen for the WJC are currently in the NHL (Schaefer, Parekh, and Brunicke). If all 3 are out, it could end up being a good thing for someone like Mews who could make the team instead.
