So Ugo Humbert wins the Dubai tourney (I think he's 6-0 in ATP finals) and it was a darn fine run defeating Monfils, Murray, Hurkacz, Medvedev, and Bublik in the final just now. Ugo will be at a career high ranking of #14 when the rankings come out on Monday.

Waiting to hear about the severity of Leylah's injury, so far she hasn't pulled out, but we're only two months into the season, it's best to take the long view and make sure the shoulder is okay rather than making it worse.

Just a reminder that the Netflix exhibition match between Rafa and Charlie from Las Vegas will be starting in about five minutes.

That Rafa down the line winner on match point (Charlie up 9-8 in the match ie-break) was vintage.

I should add that the broadcast quality for this Netflix live event was excellent. If the future for ATP and WTA tennis broadcasts is Netflix live events, count me in.

Was a fun match, too bad it went to Alcaraz but was a lot of fun. Nadal looks rusty, but I think he played pretty well all things considered. I agree DP, the broadcast quality was excellent

This is pretty disappointing from Bweh, it doesn't matter whether or not you used profanity, you got very aggressively inches away from a person's face screaming loudly (almost made contact with your racquet). No apology to the linesperson either. You do the same thing with your boss at work and you're probably out of a job.

Cowardly decision by the ATP to accept Rublev's appeal and overturn that. And what a jackass Rublev is for even having the gall to appeal that. You did a bad bad thing you absolute brat. Have some freaking humility and take your medicine.

You can make the argument that losing all the ranking points and prize money he had won to that point in the tourney is not right as the penalty should be applied from when it occurred forward. Maybe it makes more sense to suspend him for a period of time (say 2 months) instead of making the penalty retroactive. That said, those are the current rules when you are defaulted in a tourney.
I also wonder how ATP umpires and linespersons feel about this, hey folks, get ready for players to hurl abuse at you if you make a mistake and you'll just have to sit there and take it.

Halep certainly got a raw deal waiting seemingly forever for her appeal to be heard so I don't have a problem with this decision.

Main draw play kicks off later today in Indian Wells, but no Canadians in action today, Andy Murray taking on Goatfin looks intriguing to me on the men's side while Katie Boulter vs. Camila Giorgi is a very attractive looking match on the women's side.

Christopher O'Connell just now knocks out Jack Draper in three sets. That's a minor upset although you just don't know if Draper was 100%

Giorgi eliminates Boulter in straight sets, Boulter likely running on fumes from winning San Diego, but you just never know what Giorgi will show up, she can be really good or really bad.

I suppose he's saving himself for the clay season. If he can play in the French Open I wonder if that's his last event.
