I actually think the Andersson/Anderssen/Anderson varieties are more difficult to get right.

Same with Tofolli - he's no longer on the team. So, who cares.

Apparently it’s still hard after he’s traded.

Wonder if Erik Karlsson is holding up the hanifin market. Seattle Carolina and Pittsburgh all interested per tsn. If he goes, maybe others will circle back to hanifin.

Probably depends on how much salary San Jose is willing to eat.

This probably would have been pretty decent to me. I think Pittsburgh is going to be decently bad pretty quickly.

That package...doesn't floor me, but I guess the market is what it is. I do want them to gather additional picks...if we can land Pittsburgh's 1st + 3rd (or 2nd?) with some conditions on when we get to choose, that's not bad because I think Pittsburgh could potentially end up holding decent value picks.

That’s probably the best Pitt can offer. The key piece is the first. Poulin reeks of bust

That seems like the lowest level of return that we would want for Hanifin, not a terrible deal but not really that appealing.
I think any deal with Pitt should include Pickering and Yager but I understand if they didn't want to do that. If they say no to including both I think you just move on to a different tea.

That’s pretty underwhelming, Poulin is a busy at this point and Pickering is very raw and may not account for anything either.
So essentially a 3rd and 1st for Hanifin, no immediate help which is probably why CGY said no.

JVR to Boston for $1M. Weird.
...which is related to Hanifin's trade value because of...reasons...not wrong thread or anything...

I think Pickering is a high floor but very low ceiling player
The rationale would be to take the deal for the 2025 pick which could be high. Pittsburghs window is closing fast

The prospects are pretty weak in the offer, but the pick is a true wildcard and if it comes with limited protection could if been worth it.
I think if it was a top 3 protected 2024/25 1st + oliver joseph, it would be a good deal. Helps now and later

Agreed on all points, the pick if not lottery protected could give the flames a shot at some generational talent.

I disagree. Pickering is meh, Poulin is never going to become anything, the Penguins will try and challenge for the next few years they have Malkin and Crosby still going and they have Dubas steering the ship now so I think they will be bubble team at worst for the next few years so that 1st is probably anywhere from 16 on. I think Conroy can do better if he waits.

Vladar options are starting to dwindle as teams pick up cheap back ups. If he made less money I would be ok to hold onto him.
Trading these 2 now adds $7 mil in cap space.
I'd love the Flames to use that money on some cheap options.
Lucas Carlson is someone I hope the Flames target as depth on d.
Also would love Sanheim if the prices is much cheaper than this return
