I agree that we can't wait around on Lindy to make a decision any longer. If we actually rolled out the red carpet and put up a "competitive" offer and he's still unsure, I think that's enough of an answer for me in of itself. Can't have more teams like Colorado fill their team gaps while we sit around waiting on the apparent lynchpin of the whole thing.

Ya I was ok with Gaudreau and Tkachuk taking us to the woodshed and waiting around for them to see if they'd come to, but Lindholm is not in that category. If he hit free agency today, my guess is someone would offer 7x8 mil or 56 million. There is 0 reason the flames should be eclipsing that my 15 million dollars. None. I'd give him a take it out leave it at 8x8 and when he says no, punt him. Have some pride flames

So, first off, I will remind everyone that Lindholm cannot even sign a deal yet. Of course, they haven't come to terms, when the first possible opportunity to sign an extension is not for another week. It should surprise absolutely no one that nothing has happened yet.

Second, it is laughable to think that Lindholm is not worth $8–9 m on a long-term deal. Take a look around the league: this is the going rate for top-line and high-end top-six players. Lindholm is a right-shot centre, which is among the rarest of player commodities that every team covets, so he is going to command a huge contract from wherever he ends up.

That’s the problem, nobody had the money that he wanted. Only Treliving put in the effort to clear the cap to waste it on him. But it’s the owner’s fault for being cheap. Nothing has changed now except he is a year older. I don’t see any trade value in the guy

Is suppression the new blocking? It seems to me that having to suppress a shot really just means that your team doesn't have possession of the puck. Wouldn't a D who excels at helping to get and/or maintain puck possession be more valuable than a D who excels at what happens when you don't have possession?

I understand what you are saying, and I agree with you. But if they attach their 1st for our 7th, I think I can swallow it. Is there actual talks that we are acquiring this POS?
