Lol, isn't that exactly what the system is currently doing? They evaluated it, and it's not a medical reason she can't get vaccinated, it's just a religious thing. So rather than incur the unnecessary risk post surgery of exposing the rest of the recovering ward from a potential flu, they insist on her being vaccinated first.
Plus, as mentioned, it's just so dumb how vaccines are invasive and against how God intended things to be, but somehow transplanting another person's heart is totally ok.

The pope said people should get vaccinated. He's obviously not a medical authority, but he's taking the advice of the medical community. Makes you wonder why other religious folks seeks religious exemption.

I actually think the answer to this is pretty easy.
Religious don't operate strictly in the world of facts and logic. They are largely cultural constructions to explain what the cultural wants to be true, so this family is heaped in a culture where they want to believe (in the face of all contrary evidence), that they have the knowledge, ability, power... to protect their daughter from threats. They believe this to such an extent that they are willing to wrap it into their own personal belief structure and create a self justifications.
Once you start believe in an obvious constructions without evidence, it's a lot easier to add things to those constructions without evidence, so it doesn't matter that it doesn't make sense.

Triage sometimes requires what some people might call cruelty. However, in this case we are talking about a very limited and precious resource- a living, beating heart. The need for this organ always outweighs the availability. As such, decisions must be made on who can receive, and the top criteria should be who is most likely to successfully convalesce and heal as a result of the transplant, lest you waste the essential and limited resource.
This requires deprioritizing people who are less likely to successfully integrate the transplant, and sometimes this means discluding people with preexisting unrelated conditions that could also harm the organ and reduce chances of successful transplant.

His new school is based at the local Pentecostal church, but it doesn't follow the same curriculum as the province's public schools.
It uses an education program called Abeka, which comes from the United States and teaches based on a literal interpretation of the Bible.
That means the school's students are taught the earth is 6,000 years old, it was created by God in six days and humans lived at the same time as dinosaurs.
"The Abeka science and health program presents the universe as the direct, orderly, law-abiding creation of God and refutes the man-made idea of evolution," states the program's website. "Students are presented with plants, animals, rocks, elements, forces, the human body — and much more — according to an understanding of the design and laws of nature."

How the #### is this allowed to exist in Canada? This is how you get a whole ####ing town of David Parkers, ready to foist their fairy tale reality and unique brand of cruelty based discrimination on the rest of us.
We don't have to imagine, we have evidence everywhere of how ####ing disastrous putting bible thumping ####faces in charge of anything goes. I'm actually imagining you disabled in a wheelchair begging for someone to wipe your fetid gangrenous #######.

I can be bad at math but isnt 216k just 5% of the population of Alberta?

You know that old famous saying from Jesus.
"Blessed are the employed, and those that handle money. Do nothing for the lepers. We can't have them leaching off the rest of us."

And possibly one million. Or more!
Kind of like saving 258 million lives in the US by the government seizing 22 million fentanyl pills.

It would have been closer to 500k but when you factor in the annual deaths due to dinosaurs it has a big impact.

I have discovered my favourite bible quote: Quo Vadis(where are you going?)
Peter shouted this as Jesus walked by and was later crucified, apparently for sticking his nose in some else’s business.

Not to mention his classic
'It's easy for a rich man to pass into heaven, just put the bags of gold on a camel and take it with him'
