Sometimes the goalie needs to prop up the team, sometimes it's the other way around. This night is the latter.

Andersson has NOT arguably been the best defenseman on the Flames. What a misuse of icetime stats. Tanev and Kylington have both been a full tier above.

Stone isn’t as good as Zadorov. His passing is even worse, and he throws the puck away consistently.

Honestly all our LD after Hanifin are pretty bad. I was hopeful Valimaki could elevate to the level he gave us back in 2019 but it seems his mobility is just shot.

Just got home from work. These are the nights you have to win to put some distance between us and the Oilers. So disappointed to see they blew it.

Zadorov at $3.75M hasn't been playing well enough this year considering his cap hit.

Gudbranson has just been straight up bad. I don't know if Valimaki, Stone or Mackey would be a downgrade at this point.

Not sure that’s true.

Among our dmen At 5v5 Andersson ranks:

TOI: 2nd
Corsi For %: 3rd
Shots for %: 2nd
Goals For %: 1st
Expected Goals For %: 1st

With the lowest offensive zone starts.

Overall our entire top 4 has been pretty good, and really I think there is an argument that any of Andersson, Tanev, or Kylington have been our top dmen
