Keeping crap away from the team? He wasn't welcome back to the Sharks as players in the locker room didn't want him around. Same with the Jets. He's really, really bad in the locker room.

With the news of Kane signing so quick I'd be surprised if it's with the Flames.
It's probably a good thing though because with another team signing him so quickly Kane will just carry on and think he's not the problem.
Hopefully he can be a better person/teammate.

Maybe his personal, at home crap. But obviously not everything judging from this. And from what we've heard about how Sharks players wanted him gone.

You see I just don't know... I love how many people here are willing to crucify this guy when they don't really know him. I know they say he has gambling issues and debt issues but we all have issues - there are stories about problems with his wife and abuse allegations, but right now that's one sided and if true, I don't like that. But I see no enjoyment in cheering on the downfall of another person - I think it's sad even if it's shown in the future that he deserved it - it's sad just thinking about the wasted potential and we can all change for the better and so to can he and I hope he does.

The Flames brand around the league is not a cup contender. Despite his warts, given the supposed interest around Kane I'd be shocked if he didn't end up with someone who's perceived as closer to winning a cup.

It makes plenty of sense to me that many teams would offer Kane the minimum or a cap hit that can be buried in the minors. The risk should be minimal. He doesn’t fit in he is cut. The upside is a team picks up a goal scoring power forward for the minimum.

I wasnt kidding when I said Kane was 'persona non grata.'
His teammates hate him. Routinely.
He has been run out of Winnipeg and Buffalo and now even San Jose.
The only thing attractive about him is that he could possibly be an inexpensive, effective player for a short term. If he is anything but all of those things then he isnt worth it.
Nobody is marrying this guy. Literally or figuratively.

Precisely. Assuming a lot of other factors...like...is he actually vaxxed now?

Kane will score 25 goals beside McDavid to end the year. But we will pan the signing because of character risk
It's about scoring goals and winning games not about assembling a bunch of nice guys

Says he is. But, this is long before the recent COVID protocol violation. Although, I haven't read what the actual violation was

Usually, one of the primary factors in teams winning is a positive atmosphere and good room.

You are correct about it being all about winning games. Hyman is on pace for over 25 goals playing beside McDavid. How's their record looking? Anyone playing with McDavid is going to rack up points. Can Kane play defense or goaltender? I would pan it because adding Kane doesn't address the Oilers major issues and it's highly debatable that his addition translates to more wins.

And if the latest about him flying improperly is true, will he have trouble with travel going forward (which is pretty tough on a lot of teams).

The best teams are the ones where they have players who think they are above the rules. Kane coming in gifted a spot despite disrespecting many of the leagues policies regarding the pandemic will be universally loved by his teammates.
Who cares about chemistry with teams right? Over-rated. Not like the Sharks went from contender to bottom feeder quickly after Kane signed an extension. Also him being away has zero impact on that team going from worst back to being on the bubble? All coincidences.
Who cares how you roll as long as you score goals right?

This was exactly my point when they signed Hyman and said he’d add scoring on that line. Especially when Tippet’s go to is to run Draisaitl on the line as well. They aren’t increasing their offence - they are limiting it.
