Positive, I thought the Flames played well to start the game. The Defence didn’t have any glaring mistakes, which I thought was going to be the case. Some unlucky bounces led to the goals.
Negative Edmonton was anticipating this and are trying to win the game on the power play. Calgary will need to figure out how to get that for-check going. Very quite first by the top line.
Positive I thought Monahan was skating the best I have seen in the last two years so hopefully he will get more comfortable and start lighting the lamp.

The Flames , actually played hard and smart , with virtually nothing positive from Gaudreau , Tkachuk and Lindholm , in the first period.
Need more from their high end talent. PERIOD!
